We are looking for a seasoned, numbers-driven Senior Purchase Engineer / Assistant Manager to lead procurement, subcontracting, and materials governance across our multi-plant precision machining facilities in Chakan.

This is not a transactional data-entry post. The ideal hire will independently own the entire procurement lifecycle—driving ERP master data hygiene, conducting rigorous spend analytics, optimizing cutting-tool consumption costs, managing out-plant job work (heat treatment, plating, grinding), and building automated procurement MIS dashboards to support executive operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Procurement & Direct Sourcing

- Manage end-to-end procurement for precision machine shop requirements:
- Raw Materials: Castings
- Tooling & Consumables: CNC/VMC carbide inserts, BT30/BT40 tool holders, drills, taps, broaches, grinding wheels, and synthetic coolants/slideway oils.
- Machine Spares & Maintenance: Hydraulic valves, pneumatic fittings, sensors, Fanuc/PLC electrical spares, and machine lubricants.
- Lead competitive bidding, commercial negotiations, and formulate Annual Rate Contracts (ARCs) with suppliers.
- Implement Cost-Per-Component (CPC) tooling models with major tooling vendors to systematically drive down machining costs.

1. Subcontracting & Job-Work Governance

- Oversee vendor contracting for out-plant operations: tooling and specialized job-work grinding.
- Monitor out-plant material movement via ERP delivery challans, minimizing transit turnaround time (TAT) and tracking rejection reconciliations.

1. ERP Management, Data Integrity & Process Controls

- Own complete purchasing workflows in the ERP system:
- Timely conversion of indents/BOM requirements into verified Purchase Orders (POs).
- Strict master data maintenance (Item masters, HSN codes, tax slabs, supplier lead times, payment terms).
- Resolve three-way matching discrepancies (PO vs. Store GRN vs. Accounts Invoice).
- Audit Bill of Materials (BOM)



and establish scientific Reorder Levels (ROL), Minimum/Maximum stock limits, and safety buffers across plants.

1. Procurement Analytics, MIS & Cost Optimization

- Develop and maintain automated weekly and monthly Purchase MIS reports:
- Spend & Cost Variance Analysis: Tracking budget vs. actuals across material heads.
- Inventory Aging & Working Capital: Flagging slow-moving, non-moving (SLOB), and obsolete inventory to release blocked capital.
- Supplier OTIF (On-Time In-Full) & Rejection Tracking: Scoring suppliers on delivery reliability and incoming PPM levels alongside QA.
- Track commodity pricing trends (steel indices, alloy surcharges) to identify strategic bulk purchase timing.

1. Supplier Quality & Audit Compliance

- Support customer and IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 audit requirements regarding supplier evaluation, Approved Vendor Lists (AVL), and annual vendor audits.
- Issue formal supplier performance scorecards and drive Corrective Action Reports (CAPA) for recurring vendor quality defects.

Required Technical Skills & Competencies
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on procurement experience in a precision engineering, CNC/VMC machine shop, or auto-component manufacturing setup.
- ERP Proficiency: Extensive experience operating inside manufacturing ERPs (e.g., PMTrack, SAP B1, Marg, or custom engineering ERPs).
- Advanced Analytical Capabilities: High-level Microsoft Excel skills (Nested XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, dynamic charts, and financial data modelling).
- Technical Product Familiarity: Solid understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T; basics, raw material grades (e.g., EN series, 20MnCr5), and cutting-tool geometry.
- Negotiation & Commercial Acumen: Sound knowledge of GST rules, E-Way bills, freight logistics, and Incoterms.
- Languages: Fluency in Marathi, Hindi, and English for seamless coordination across local suppliers and corporate management.

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
