Purpose of the Role:

This role exists to conceptualize, develop Seats for comfort, regulatory, NCAP & real world requirements to meet program targets of quality, cost & time for entire range of PVBU and EVBU products.This role is critical as deliverables are expected to be significantly challenging considering future technology requirements from customer experience point of view.

Job Responsibilities:

-Design & CAD Modelling of Seats and Assemblies as per engineering guidelines and checklists.

-Evaluate data received from supplier as per engineering deliverables and standards and decide next action plan to meet milestones.

-Creation and Management of product data structure in PLM and ensure BOM Quality by leading the extended support team.

-To support development of Design Standards & Carryover Strategy in line with defined Technical Policy and Technology Roadmap and engineering for the projects in line with the standards.

-Create Technical Proposals for New Concepts & resolution of Technical Issues or Design to meet attributes.

-Support VMTL for project deliverables as per NPI milestones and deliverables.

-Work with suppliers and drive them to meet the project deliverables.

-Prepare and update component/ sub-module DFMEA, DVP for new features and track development.

-Create RFQs, Design guidelines, Design rules for standardization and process improvement

-Conduct attribute benchmarking

-Review engineering issues, conduct RCA and create proposals for resolution

-Ensure DFM / DFA for the sub aggregate and GD&T; for the component and sub system

-Participate in VAVE Idea Generation and support Implementation and execution of ideas

-Support Indent raising, vehicle build, follow up, proto trial and validation.

-Work on innovation and process improvement ideas and its execution to improve cycle time and quality

Concept generation in Pre-KO phase to suit the architectural requirements.

-Discuss & agree on attributes as PAT requirements

-Review future regulations or consumer group test protocols (GNCAP / BNCAP / EuroNCAP) and its impact on the sub-module development and take necessary actions.

-Review the interfaces with adjacent aggregates with proper integration considering vehicle level requirements.

Design Studio -

-Review Design proposals, share feedback and concepts and enable with Engineering solutions.

Manufacturing -

-Review critical quality risks in new product manufacturing process.

External

Suppliers -

-Engineering Reviews for solutions, Technology & Component trends, review of test reports

-Review part development & progress of the project for critical issues to ensure certification and homologation in time.

-Review TRSO, BOM signoff.

Consultants & Engineering Service Providers -

-RFQ & Deliverables sign-off, Planning & Engineering Reviews

-Technology Trends, planning & execution reviews for identified projects

Relevant Experience :

- 8+ years of experience in domain of Seating systems engineering and development.
- In depth knowledge of the current and upcoming regulations related to seating system.Awareness about consumer group protocols (GNCAP, BNCAP, EuroNCAP).
- Good knowledge of seat mechanisms (manual and power), technologies used for feature development, the development process (virtual and physical), validation process and manufacturing process.
- Experience in manufacturing process related to - foam and trim (fabric, leatherette, leather etc for seats), sheet metal forming and welding process, Plastic manufacturing process (injection molding, 2K molding, Thermoforming...etc).
- DV/PV validation, working level knowledge about component and vehicle level CAE to support seat development.




- Knowledge of materials & technologies required to deliver required design.
- Good modelling skills and expert in best modelling practices using Catia software, Teamcenter, Vismockup.
- Positive knowledge of DFMEA, DFM, DFA & DFS, GD&T;, PLM Systems, MINT3, RMDVV and other internal systems.
