IPCHASERS is looking for an experienced Senior IP Research Analyst to lead prior-art search assignments, develop effective patent search strategies, analyse technical disclosures, and ensure the quality of intellectual property research deliverables.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of specialised IP research, patent analytics, and technology intelligence services while mentoring junior researchers and establishing research methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead prior-art searches and patent research assignments across diverse technology domains.
- Analyse invention disclosures and develop comprehensive patent search strategies.
- Identify relevant patent publications, scientific papers, technical documents, and other non-patent literature.
- Conduct advanced searches using keywords, patent classifications, citations, inventors, applicants, and other search techniques.
- Analyse patent claims, technical specifications, and invention disclosures.
- Prepare detailed patent feature-mapping matrices and prior-art comparison reports.
- Identify potential novelty and inventive-step concerns for review by qualified patent professionals.
- Conduct patent landscape analysis, competitive patent intelligence, and technology trend research.
- Review and validate research findings prepared by junior analysts.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), research templates,



and quality-control frameworks.
- Train researchers in patent databases, search methodologies, and evidence documentation.
- Collaborate with clients to understand invention disclosures, technical requirements, and research objectives.
- Manage research project timelines, quality standards, and client deliverables.
- Contribute to the development of new intellectual property consulting and patent analytics services.

Required Skills and Expertise
- Demonstrated experience in patent searching, prior-art research, or intellectual property analytics.
- Strong understanding of patent documents, claims, classifications, and publication histories.
- Ability to develop and execute systematic patent search strategies.
- Excellent technical research, analytical thinking, and report-writing skills.
- Experience reviewing prior-art search reports and patent research findings.
- Strong project management, quality assurance, and documentation skills.
- Ability to mentor junior researchers and coordinate research assignments.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in patent research, patent analytics, R&D; intelligence, or patent prosecution support.
- A relevant qualification in engineering, science, law, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with international patent databases, including Google Patents, WIPO PATENTSCOPE, and Espacenet.




- Experience researching one or more technology domains, such as embedded systems, semiconductors, software, artificial intelligence, medical devices, or industrial technologies.
- Exposure to patent landscape studies, competitive intelligence, or freedom-to-operate research.
