Urgent Hiring: Senior Embedded Linux Engineer (Ubuntu, CentOS Migration, Edge Devices)

We are hiring an experienced Embedded Linux / Ubuntu Platform Engineer to migrate the ICV application from CentOS 7 to the latest Ubuntu LTS (22.04 / 24.04) and to verify the software porting and build process. You will build device-side software for Linux edge devices used in mission-critical public safety and law-enforcement deployments, where reliability, security and data integrity come first.

What you will do

- Port and migrate the ICV application from CentOS 7 to Ubuntu LTS, and validate the build and release process
- Develop platform support: shell/Python scripts, systemd services, installers, Debian (.deb) packages and custom Ubuntu ISO images
- Integrate the product with the Linux networking stack, video recording and streaming (GStreamer, FFmpeg, V4L2, RTSP), Bluetooth (BlueZ), and security and AI libraries
- Work with hardware peripherals: TPM 2.0, GNSS/GPS receivers, GPIO, and 4G/5G cellular modules
- Build long-running device-side services, agents and daemons that run reliably in the field
- Implement secure communication, secure storage and system hardening (TLS, encryption, secure boot, certificate management)
- Own the full lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, testing, deployment and operational support
- Work with backend, platform and QA engineers on configuration, installation scripts, logging, provisioning, customer support and evidence handling

Must-have skills

- 8+ years of Linux experience, with strong Ubuntu setup, installation and configuration (10+ years preferred)
- Python and Bash/shell scripting for development, testing and deployment
- Linux development environment skills: ISO imaging, debugging, profiling, Git, build systems (CMake, Make)
- Solid networking knowledge:



TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP/S, TLS, device-to-cloud communication
- Proven experience building long-running daemons or agents on Linux
- Experience with secure systems: encrypted communication, secure storage, system hardening
- Virtualization: Docker, VirtualBox or Hyper-V
- Comfortable working in an Agile team

Preferred skills (an advantage)

- SaltStack (Salt Master / Salt Minion) installation and configuration
- AWS IoT Core, Kinesis Video Streams, MFA/2FA, remote OS setup
- Yocto / Buildroot, Debian packaging, cloud-init / Ubuntu autoinstall
- Embedded and device security: secure boot, TPM, hardware-backed key storage
- Large-scale connected device fleet experience (telematics, body-worn camera, in-car video, dashcam, surveillance)
- Linux networking internals, performance tuning, Wireshark / tcpdump, iptables / nftables
- Web backend integration, HTTP servers, databases, SQL
- Strong documentation and communication skills

Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical or a related field.
