About the Role

We are looking for a technically strong Electrical Design Engineer with hands-on experience in building electrical systems and ELV design. The ideal candidate should understand electrical engineering fundamentals, independently contribute to design decisions, and integrate electrical, low-voltage, and smart-building systems.

This role is suited to engineers who have worked on the actual design and engineering of building systems, rather than candidates whose experience is limited to drafting, BIM modelling, or design coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop LV electrical distribution systems for residential, commercial, high-rise, and mixed-use buildings.

Perform load calculations, voltage-drop calculations, protection studies, and prepare Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs), layouts, schematics, and equipment schedules.

Design ELV systems, including Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, Structured Cabling, PA/VA, Intercom, and Building Management Systems (BMS).

Evaluate system architecture, equipment selection, circuit requirements, and integration between electrical and low-voltage systems.

Work on the integration of electrical distribution with sensors, controls, automation, and solar-powered or other energy-efficient building systems, where applicable.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams while retaining ownership of technical design deliverables.





Apply relevant electrical codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, and other applicable building standards.

Mandatory Requirements

5–10 years of relevant experience in building electrical design, with practical exposure to LV and ELV systems.

Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals, including AC/DC, voltage and current, power, earthing, protection devices, and LV distribution.

Demonstrated involvement in engineering calculations, system design, technical decisions, and design documentation.

Experience with residential, commercial, high-rise, or mixed-use building projects.

Ability to explain design choices, troubleshoot technical issues, and understand how different building systems interact.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Excel.

Preferred Experience

Experience delivering electrical designs for US-based projects and familiarity with NEC, NFPA, and related standards.

Exposure to BMS, building automation, solar-integrated buildings, sensors, and control systems.

Working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, or other BIM coordination tools.

- Experience in multidisciplinary engineering design consultancies.

Significant Consideration

Candidates will be evaluated on their actual engineering responsibilities and technical depth, not solely on their current employer or designation. Candidates whose experience is primarily BIM modelling, CAD drafting, installation, site execution, maintenance, or design coordination without core electrical design ownership may not be suitable.
