Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Solution Architect to provide technical leadership across enterprise application development, cloud-native solutions, application modernisation, enterprise integration and digital transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in solution architecture, application architecture and cloud architecture, with Microsoft Azure preferred. The candidate should be capable of translating complex business requirements into secure, scalable, resilient and cost-effective solutions while guiding engineering teams through implementation.

This is a Solution Architecture and Application Architecture role, not a Cloud Administration or Infrastructure Operations role.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise applications and digital solutions.
- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable technical architectures.
- Design cloud-native applications using APIs, microservices, serverless computing, containers and event-driven architectures.
- Define application, cloud, integration, data, security and deployment architectures.
- Design enterprise integration solutions using REST APIs, API Management, messaging and asynchronous processing.
- Develop application modernisation strategies, including re-platforming, refactoring, re-architecting and SaaS replacement.
- Define and validate non-functional requirements covering performance, scalability, availability, security and recoverability.




- Embed security principles, identity management, encryption, API security and Zero Trust into solution designs.
- Provide architectural guidance on CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, deployment strategies and production readiness.
- Evaluate technology options, managed services, architecture trade-offs and cloud cost optimisation opportunities.
- Conduct architecture reviews, document technical decisions and establish reusable architecture patterns.
- Lead technical discovery workshops and engage with customers and senior stakeholders to understand business needs.
- Mentor architects, technical leads and developers, and guide engineering teams through complex technical challenges.
- Support the adoption of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and AI-enabled solutions where applicable.

Required Skills and Experience
- 8+ Years of overall relevant experience in solution architecture, cloud architecture, application architecture or similar senior technical roles.
- Strong experience in enterprise solution architecture and cloud-native application design.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure architecture; AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience is also valuable.
- Hands-on architectural knowledge of APIs, microservices, distributed systems and enterprise integration.
- Experience with application modernisation and designing scalable, resilient and secure systems.
- Strong understanding of databases, data persistence, application security and integration patterns.
- Knowledge of CI/CD,



DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience defining non-functional requirements and working across the software development lifecycle.
- Strong architecture documentation, modelling and technical design skills.
- Experience engaging directly with customers, senior stakeholders and engineering teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and technical leadership skills.

- Microsoft Azure cloud-native application and integration services.
- Azure OpenAI and Azure AI services.
- Kubernetes, containers, serverless and event-driven architecture.
- API Management and enterprise integration platforms.
- Integration with Dynamics 365, SAP and/or ServiceNow.
- Generative AI, RAG and agentic AI architectures.
- FinOps and cloud cost optimisation.
- Architecture governance and Design Authority experience.
- AWS or GCP architecture experience.

What We Are Looking For We are looking for an architect who can understand business problems, evaluate technology options, design complete solutions and guide engineering teams from architecture through implementation.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong architectural judgement, customer-facing consulting skills and the ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Important: Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to Azure administration, cloud infrastructure operations or DevOps engineering, without robust solution and application architecture experience, may not be suitable for this role.
