Job Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst with strong General Ledger (GL) and Finance functional expertise to support an enterprise ERP modernization program for a leading insurance organization.

The program involves migrating from PeopleSoft to Workday, supported by an enterprise Data Hub built on Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and ADLS Gen2.

The candidate will analyze existing PeopleSoft SQL and SQR extracts, understand the underlying business logic, and define how Finance data and downstream reporting requirements will be supported in the future-state architecture using Workday and the enterprise Data Hub.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze existing PeopleSoft SQL queries, SQR programs, extracts, and downstream data flows.
- Understand and document General Ledger, financial close, reconciliation, reporting, and financial control requirements.
- Translate current-state business logic into future-state functional specifications.
- Prepare source-to-target mapping documents, transformation rules, data definitions, and field-level specifications.
- Independently read, analyze, and write SQL queries to validate data, investigate discrepancies, and understand existing data logic.
- Collaborate with Finance stakeholders, Workday functional consultants, and Azure Data Engineering teams.
- Define data validation, reconciliation, completeness, and accuracy requirements.
- Document data lineage, business rules, dependencies, and downstream consumer requirements.




- Support Finance implementation and establish documentation standards for subsequent Actuarial, Investment, Reinsurance, and Risk phases.

Mandatory Skills

- 8-15 years of relevant experience in Business Systems Analysis, Business Analysis, or Finance Systems.
- Strong functional knowledge of General Ledger and Finance processes.
- Hands-on SQL skills, including the ability to analyze existing queries and develop queries independently.
- Experience analyzing PeopleSoft SQL extracts, SQR programs, or legacy ERP data flows.
- Expertise in functional specifications, source-to-target mapping, and data transformation requirements.
- Experience with ERP modernization, data migration, financial reporting, or enterprise system integration.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work across business and technical teams.

Good-to-Have Skills

- Workday Financial Management / Workday General Ledger.
- Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and ADLS Gen2.
- Insurance or financial services domain experience.
- Experience with enterprise data hubs and downstream reporting integrations.

Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a hands-on Finance Business Systems Analyst who understands General Ledger processes, can independently investigate legacy SQL/SQR logic, and can convert business requirements into detailed specifications that data engineering teams can implement without ambiguity. This is not a purely requirements-gathering or documentation role. Robust Finance functional expertise and SQL proficiency are essential.
