Role Summary The L3 AWS Cloud Engineer will act as the senior technical resource responsible for AWS infrastructure deployment, Infrastructure as Code implementation, complex troubleshooting, automation, production support, and technical guidance for L1/L2 operations. This role requires strong hands-on AWS deployment experience, Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
- Perform hands-on deployment and configuration of AWS services including EC2, VPC, subnets, route tables, NAT Gateway, Internet Gateway, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, ELB/ALB/NLB, Auto Scaling Groups, EKS/ECS, Route 53, AWS Backup, and Systems Manager.
- Own L3-level troubleshooting for infrastructure, networking, access, performance, deployment, security, and service availability issues.
- Provide technical guidance and escalation support to L1 cloud monitoring resources.
- Implement AWS best practices for security, scalability, availability, resilience, monitoring, and cost optimization.
- Support cloud deployment automation, environment builds, operational improvements, and migration-related activities.




- Review and validate Terraform modules, CloudFormation templates, IAM policies, networking configurations, and deployment plans.
- Participate in incident resolution, root cause analysis, problem management, and preventive action planning.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and SOPs.
- Coordinate with application, DevOps, infrastructure, network, and security teams for cloud operations and delivery.
- Ensure adherence to cloud governance, security controls, compliance requirements, naming standards, and tagging policies.

Required Skills and Experience:

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud engineering, AWS infrastructure operations, or cloud deployment support.
- Mandatory AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate certification.
- Strong hands-on experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation.
- Hands-on experience with AWS CloudFormation template development, stack deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Strong practical knowledge of AWS compute, storage, networking, database, monitoring, backup, and security services.
- Good understanding of VPC, subnets, routing, NAT Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect basics, Security Groups, NACLs, and DNS.




- Robust knowledge of IAM roles, policies, permissions, least privilege access, and AWS security best practices.
- Experience with CloudWatch metrics, logs, alarms, dashboards, CloudTrail, and operational monitoring.
- Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, backup, restore, scaling, and resilience design patterns in AWS.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot AWS infrastructure, deployment, access, networking, and performance issues.
- Experience working in production support and ITIL-based incident/change/problem management environments.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, or similar platforms.
- Experience with container services such as Amazon ECS or Amazon EKS.
- Scripting capability using Python, Shell, or PowerShell.
- Experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, Service Catalog, or Landing Zone concepts.
- Knowledge of cost optimization, AWS Trusted Advisor, reserved capacity, rightsizing, and billing analysis.
- Additional AWS certifications are an advantage.

L3 Scope and Ownership:

- Expected to independently handle complex AWS deployment, automation, and production troubleshooting activities.
- Expected to review and guide L1/L2 actions for escalated cloud incidents.
- Expected to own technical documentation, deployment standards, incident RCA inputs, and operational improvement recommendations.
- Expected to support management and technical teams in maintaining stable, secure, scalable, and cost-effective AWS environments.
