Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Automation Lead to lead the development and enhancement of a scalable automation platform for desktop and web applications. The platform supports advanced scientific instruments used in semiconductor, life sciences, and materials research.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Python-based test automation, PyTest, Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks, and automation architecture, along with experience integrating AI/ML and Large Language Model (LLM) services into automation workflows.

The candidate will technically lead a team of automation engineers, drive framework innovation, improve automation reliability, and integrate AI-powered capabilities to accelerate test authoring, classification, execution, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks for desktop and web applications using Python, PyTest, PowerShell, and related technologies.
- Architect and maintain BDD-based automation frameworks, including reusable step libraries and mapping BDD steps to UI objects and actions.
- Develop Python modules for BDD step classification, structured data extraction, and AI-driven automation workflows.
- Design and maintain data pipelines to process, classify, and map BDD steps to automation objects using structured formats such as CSV and JSON.
- Integrate Azure OpenAI and other LLM services into automation workflows using LangChain or similar orchestration frameworks.
- Develop and optimize AI-assisted capabilities for automated test authoring, classification, and execution.
- Ensure consistent framework configuration, dependency management, file handling, and execution across developer machines and CI/CD agents.




- Integrate automated testing frameworks with CI/CD pipelines and release workflows using tools such as Jenkins.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, Product, and Engineering teams to improve test coverage, platform stability, and delivery efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and guide a team of Python automation engineers, establishing coding standards, design practices, and quality benchmarks.
- Own platform deployment, onboarding, and usability improvements, including environment validation, troubleshooting documentation, and user enablement.
- Improve automation reliability, scalability, observability, reporting, and long-running execution stability.
- Ensure appropriate auditability, traceability, and security practices in automation development and deployment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- 6–10 years of experience in software development, test automation, or automation framework engineering.
- Strong hands-on programming experience in Python.
- Experience with PyTest and test automation framework development.
- Strong understanding of BDD frameworks, reusable step definitions, and mapping BDD steps to UI objects and actions.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation utilities.
- Experience designing modular, scalable, and maintainable software frameworks.
- Knowledge of structured data processing using CSV, JSON, and Python data-handling libraries.
- Experience integrating automation frameworks with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Strong understanding of configuration management, dependency handling, debugging, and execution consistency.
- Experience in technical leadership, mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews,



and establishing engineering best practices.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
- Hands-on experience with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI SDKs, or other LLM services in production environments.
- Experience with LangChain or similar LLM orchestration frameworks.
- Knowledge of AI/ML-enabled automation, prompt engineering, and AI-driven test generation or classification.
- Exposure to Agentic AI concepts and AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
- Experience with Node.js for developing APIs, backend services, and automation integrations.
- Knowledge of software design patterns, modular architecture, and enterprise-grade platform design.
- Experience implementing automation reporting, observability, and reliability improvements.
- Exposure to scientific instruments, semiconductor technology, life sciences, engineering, or regulated environments.

Educational Qualifications

- B.Tech / B.E. in Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Equivalent practical experience may also be considered.
