Job Overview:

The L1 Security Analyst is responsible for 24/7 monitoring of the organization s security landscape. Candidate will act as the first responder to security alerts, identifying potential threats, performing initial analysis, and escalating confirmed incidents to Tier 2 and Tier 3 teams. This role is focused on rapid detection, accurate documentation, and maintaining the first line of defence.

Key Responsibilities:

Real-Time Monitoring: Continuous surveillance of the SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) dashboard to identify anomalies and potential security incidents.





Initial Triage: Evaluating security alerts on CrowdStrike, Securonix, etc .to determine their severity and validity (distinguishing between false positives and real threats).

Incident Documentation: Logging all suspicious activity and actions taken within the Ticketing System (e.g. FSM).

Threat Escalation: Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) to escalate verified threats to Tier 2 Analysts for deeper investigation.

Health Checks: Performing routine health checks on security sensors and tools to ensure data is flowing correctly.

Reporting: Preparing daily activity reports summarizing the volume and type of alerts handled.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 0 2 years of experience in IT or Cybersecurity. (Fresh graduates with relevant internships are encouraged to apply).

Foundational Knowledge: Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, and common attack vectors like Phishing and Malware.

Tooling: Familiarity with basic security tools (e.g., Wireshark, Antivirus, and basic SIEM navigation).

Soft Skills: Robust attention to detail, ability to follow strict processes, and excellent communication skills for reporting findings.

Preferred Skills:

CompTIA Security+: The baseline industry standard for entry-level security roles.

Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals (SC-900): Cloud-focused environments.

Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Cybersecurity: For those focusing on network-centric security
