1. Provide personalized financial counseling to patients and their families, explaining healthcare costs, insurance coverage, and out-of-pocket expenses.

2. Assist patients in completing financial assistance applications and eligibility screenings for government-sponsored programs, charity care, or other financial assistance options.

3. Verify insurance coverage, obtain pre-authorizations, and coordinate benefits with third-party payers to ensure timely and accurate claims processing.

4. Review and interpret medical bills, explanation of benefits (EOB) statements, and other financial documents with patients, addressing any discrepancies or billing errors.

Collaborate with healthcare providers, billing departments, and insurance companies to resolve billing disputes, appeals, or denials.

6. Educate patients on available payment options, including payment plans, financial assistance programs, and financing options, and assist with enrollment as needed.

7. Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity when discussing financial matters with patients, respecting their privacy and autonomy.

8. Document patient interactions, financial arrangements, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR) or billing systems accurately and comprehensively.
