Work you'll do

As a Senior Analyst – Power & Utilities on the Energy Resources & Industries (ER&I;) Research & Insights (R&I;) team, you will be responsible for…

- Developing research proposals and hypotheses for thought leadership and client briefings focused on the power and utilities and renewable energy industries.
- Conducting secondary research, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and synthesizing findings into industry perspectives.
- Applying research methodologies, including surveys, financial analysis, and case studies, to support business decision-making.
- Preparing research briefings, written materials, and presentation content for clients and Deloitte leaders.
- Collaborating with project leads and senior team members in the United States and India to deliver research projects.

The team The PU&R; sector is part of the broader Energy Resources & Industries (ER&I;) industry team within the R&I; group. The ER&I; industry team comprises individuals with varied subject matter expertise and skill sets that enables members to work both independently and collaboratively on small and large projects.



The overall R&I; group’s objective is to develop compelling and forward-looking perspectives that allow clients to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to “what’s coming next.” The perspectives are formed by regular scanning and analysis of shaping trends, industry and company level developments, and regulatory environment. The group plays an integral role in strengthening the firm's strategic positioning in the marketplace and through end-to-end development of high-quality thoughtware.

Location: Mumbai, Hyderabad

Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM

Qualifications

Required

- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM).
- 3-4 years of experience conducting research, analysis, and writing in United States power and utilities or renewable energy markets.
- Experience developing research proposals and hypotheses and conducting secondary research.
- Experience analyzing quantitative and qualitative data and producing written research reports, client briefings, or presentation materials.
- Experience applying at least one research methodology: surveys, financial analysis, case studies, forecasting or simulation, text analysis, regulatory review, mergers and acquisitions analysis, or social-media research.
- Experience using one or more online research databases, including Bloomberg, Hoovers, Factiva, OneSource, Thomson, or AlphaSense.
- Experience preparing business presentations for clients or senior leaders.

Preferred:
- Experience tracking and summarizing government filings and company strategy in the United States power and utilities or renewable energy industries.
- Experience using Tableau or Microsoft Power BI to develop data visualizations.
- Experience using generative artificial intelligence tools for research or productivity workflows and validating source information before including it in research outputs.




- Experience working with virtual teams in India and the United States.
