The SAP MDG Developer is responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting technical solutions within SAP Master Data Governance (MDG). This is a hands-on development role that translates business and functional requirements into scalable solutions across data models, validations, derivations, workflows, user interfaces, APIs, enhancements, integrations, and master-data replication.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and enhance SAP MDG solutions across Business Partner, Customer, Supplier, Material, and Finance domains.
- Extend MDG data models, entities, attributes, and relationships.
- Implement validations, derivations, and business rules using BRF+, BAdIs, enhancement frameworks, and ABAP.
- Design and support BRF+ rules, decision tables, workflows, agent determination, and approval routing.
- Develop custom solutions using Object-Oriented ABAP, CDS Views, AMDP, APIs, function modules, and enhancement points.
- Develop and enhance MDG user interfaces using FPM, Web Dynpro, Fiori, and OData.
- Configure and support DRF replication models, filters, outbound implementations, and target-system integration.
- Design and implement end-to-end integrations between SAP MDG, S/4HANA, ECC, SAP BTP/Integration Suite, middleware platforms, and non-SAP applications.
- Develop and support integrations using REST APIs, OData, SOAP Web Services, IDocs, RFC, ALE, Proxy interfaces, and event-driven integration patterns.
- Define and implement inbound and outbound master-data interfaces, including field mappings, transformations, filtering, enrichment, and error-handling logic.
- Support real-time,



near-real-time, and batch replication scenarios based on business and system requirements.
- Configure and troubleshoot DRF, ALE, IDoc distribution models, logical systems, partner profiles, and replication dependencies.
- Work with integration teams to define interface contracts, payload structures, API specifications, message mappings, and system connectivity requirements.
- Design and support integrations with downstream applications for Customer, Supplier, Business Partner, Material, and Finance master data.
- Monitor and troubleshoot integration failures, including IDoc errors, API failures, replication issues, middleware errors, and data synchronization defects.
- Support integration security requirements including authentication, authorization, certificates, OAuth, and technical user setup, in coordination with Basis/Security teams.
- Ensure data consistency and synchronization across MDG, S/4HANA, ECC, and external systems.
- Support MDG Central Governance processes including Create, Change, Extend, Block/Unblock, Mark for Deletion, and Mass Processing.
- Support duplicate checks, search, matching, validations, derivations, and data-quality rules.




- Support CVI and Business Partner integration, including Customer/Supplier/BP synchronization and custom mappings.
- Perform technical unit testing and support integration testing, UAT, Mock, Cutover, Go-Live, and Hypercare.
- Troubleshoot issues across workflow, replication, interfaces, APIs, UI, data models, and custom developments.
- Prepare and maintain technical specifications, interface design documents, mapping documents, test evidence, and deployment documentation.

Integration Responsibilities

- Own the technical design and development of MDG inbound and outbound integration interfaces.
- Define replication architecture and integration patterns for governed master data.
- Coordinate with middleware, Basis, Security, and downstream application teams to establish connectivity and interface readiness.
- Build and support integrations using SAP Integration Suite/CPI, PI/PO, APIs, IDocs, ALE, RFC, SOAP, and OData, where applicable.
- Support source-to-target mapping, transformation logic, key mapping, code/value conversion, and cross-reference requirements.
- Implement robust error handling, monitoring, reprocessing, and reconciliation mechanisms.
- Support interface performance, scalability, and high-volume replication requirements.
- Validate end-to-end master-data distribution and ensure downstream systems receive accurate and complete data.
- Support cutover planning for interface activation, replication sequencing, initial loads, delta replication, and post-go-live stabilization.
