Job Opening: Quality Engineer Rubber Manufacturing

About the Role

We are looking for a Quality Engineer with practical experience in rubber manufacturing, rubber compounding, and moulded rubber components. The candidate should have knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management systems and the ability to independently handle rubber testing laboratory equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor quality standards for rubber compounds and moulded rubber products.
- Implement and maintain ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality management system requirements.
- Conduct incoming,in-process, and final product inspections.
- Operate laboratory testing equipment and analyse rubber compound test results.
- Maintain inspection records,test reports, calibration records, and quality documentation.
- Handle customer complaints, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions.
- Coordinate internal audits, customer audits, and supplier quality activities.
- Work with production teams to reduce rejection, scrap, and process variation.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality requirements.

Rubber Testing Laboratory Skills The candidate should be capable of operating and interpreting results from the following equipment:

- Mooney Viscometer: Mooney viscosity and scorch characteristics testing.
- Oscillating Die Rheometer (ODR): Cure characteristics, scorch time, and optimum cure time evaluation.
- Digital Oven:



Heat ageing and thermal resistance testing as per applicable procedures.
- Tensile Testing Machine: Tensile strength, elongation at break, and related mechanical property testing.

The candidate should also understand test methods, sample preparation, equipment calibration, test reporting, and interpretation of results against specifications.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Diploma / BE / B.Tech in Mechanical, Polymer, Rubber Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in rubber compounding, compression moulding, or rubber product manufacturing preferred.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Familiarity with 8D, 5 Why, CAPA, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP, and SPC.
- Positive analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
