Role purpose The Projects Head owns Westbridge's entire project portfolio, ensuring every interiors and infrastructure project is delivered on time, within budget and to specification. The role leads the project management and site organisation, controls cost and margin across concurrent projects, and is the senior execution face of Westbridge to clients, consultants and vendors.
Key responsibilities
Portfolio and project delivery
- Lead end-to-end execution of multiple concurrent interiors, fit-out and infrastructure projects, from design handover and mobilisation to snagging, handover and close-out.
- Set up project plans, baselines and milestones; track progress through weekly reviews and intervene early on slippage.
- Allocate project managers, site heads and resources across the portfolio based on priority, complexity and client commitments.
- Ensure design intent is executed faithfully, coordinating with architects, MEP consultants, PMCs and client representatives.
- Drive turnkey hotel delivery end to end: guest rooms, lobbies, F&B;, banquets, spas and back-of-house, including FF&E;, loose furniture and kitchen equipment, to brand standards (Hilton, Marriott, Radisson, Taj, Accor).
- Lead execution of larger civil and building scopes such as the Mahape IT park and the Alibaug bungalows, coordinating structure, façade, MEP and interiors.
Cost, budget and commercial control
- Own project budgets and margins; approve cost plans, BOQs and variations within delegated authority.
- Monitor cost-to-complete,
cash flow and billing against plan; flag overruns and drive corrective action.
- Manage change orders, claims and contractual correspondence to protect Westbridge's commercial position.
- Work with procurement to negotiate rates and drive value engineering without compromising quality.
People leadership
- Lead, mentor and assess project managers, site heads and project support staff; build a strong second line.
- Set clear KPIs, run performance reviews and plan hiring and capability building for the projects function.
- Standardise project processes, templates, reporting and SOPs across sites.
Vendor and contractor management
- Onboard, evaluate and manage subcontractors, vendors and suppliers for civil, MEP, joinery, furniture and finishes.
- Monitor vendor performance on quality, timelines and safety; resolve disputes and replace non-performers.
- Coordinate with the sourcing team on material approvals, imports and delivery schedules.
Quality, safety and compliance
- Enforce QA/QC plans, inspections and material testing across sites.
- Ensure HSE compliance, site safety audits and zero-incident culture.
- Secure statutory approvals, NOCs and local authority compliance where required.
- Ensure every site complies with the four Labour Codes and state rules, including contract labour licences, BOCW registration and cess, statutory registers, minimum wages and mandated worker welfare facilities.
- Enforce PF and ESIC compliance across subcontractors and labour suppliers. Verify registrations before mobilisation and check monthly challans before releasing payments.
- Implement statutory site safety, insurance and environmental requirements, including safety officers, work permits, PPE, Employee Compensation and CAR cover, and construction waste rules.
- Maintain a live compliance tracker for each project, and keep sites ready for labour inspections and client, brand and EHS audits.
Client and stakeholder management
- Act as senior escalation point for clients; lead progress reviews and steering meetings.
- Present portfolio status, risks and financials to the leadership team.
- Support business development with execution inputs, estimates and methodology for bids.
