About Aaroh

Aaroh is a nature-rooted early learning centre in Surat, grounded in Sri Aurobindo's Integral

Education. We see each child as a growing whole — body, heart, mind and inner self — and we design our days to honour that.

Our 0–3 and 3-6 years programme is a Montessori environment: calm, ordered and built around the young child's drive toward movement, language and independence. Care routines — eating,

resting, dressing, toileting — are treated as learning, done slowly and with respect.

The programme runs as two communities:

- Nido (15–20 months): a parent–toddler environment. Each child attends with a parent,

and the programme supports the adult as much as the child — helping parents observe, slow down and understand their child's development.
- Toddler community (20 months – 3 years): a toddlers-only environment, where

children take their first steps toward independence away from home, supported by facilitators. The role The Programme Lead, 0–3 Years holds the day-to-day pedagogical life of both the Nido and

Toddler communities. You will be the bridge between our environments, our families and our pedagogy lead (the founder of Aaroh), making sure that what we believe about very young children shows up in every routine, plan and conversation.

This is a leadership role for someone at the start of a deep learning journey. We will invest in you through a year of Montessori training at Aaroh, and we expect you to bring that learning back into both environments every day.

- Reports to: Pedagogy Lead (Founder, Aaroh)
- Works with: Facilitators in the 0–3 years programme, parents, and the wider Aaroh team
- Location: Surat, on site, full time

Key responsibilities

Pedagogy and programme leadership

- Hold the integrity of the Montessori environment across Nido and Toddler, so daily practice

stays true to Aaroh's philosophy.
- Spend meaningful time in both environments each day — observing, modelling and

guiding rather than leading from a desk.
- Make sure care routines, movement, language and practical life are offered with patience

and respect for each child's rhythm.
- Bring what you learn in training into the environments, and help facilitators translate

principles into practice. Aaroh — Programme Lead, 0–3 Years 1Nido: the parent–toddler environment
- Lead Nido sessions in a way that keeps the child at the centre while gently guiding the

parent alongside.
- Help parents learn to observe, to step back, and to let their child explore,

choose and try

for themselves.
- Model respectful language, care routines and ways of offering materials that parents can

carry home.
- Hold short reflections or conversations with parents on what they noticed, and answer their

questions about development.

Toddler community

- Plan and guide a gentle, individual settling-in for each child as they begin attending

without a parent.
- Support children's growing independence in self-care, movement, language, and practical

life.
- Make sure the day has a calm, predictable rhythm that young children can trust.
- Prepare children and families for the move from Nido to Toddler, and from Toddler to the

3–6 programme.

Observation and documentation

- Make sure observation and documentation happen consistently for every child in both

communities.
- Support facilitators to observe with care and record what they see clearly: developmental

notes, routines, milestones, photographs and moments of discovery.
- Help shape documentation into something parents and facilitators can read and learn

from.
- Review documentation regularly and give facilitators warm, specific feedback.

Lesson planning
- Guide facilitators in planning that grows out of observation — which materials and

activities to offer each child, and when.
- Ensure every plan is written down, kept up to date and stored where the team can find it.
- Meet regularly with the pedagogy lead to review plans, align them with Aaroh's curriculum

framework, and carry agreed changes back to the team.

Setting

- Prepare and maintain both the Nido and Toddler environments so they are safe, ordered,

beautiful and free for children to move in.
- Arrange the Nido environment so it also works for the adults in it — space for parents to

sit, observe and take part without taking over.
- Keep materials complete and rotate them to match each child's developmental needs.
- Care for the outdoor and nature spaces the youngest children use.

Parent relationships
- Build warm, trusting relationships with every family, from their first Nido session onward.

- Be the steady point of contact for parents on their child's day, routines, growth and

transitions.
- Share observations with families, and lead parent meetings, conversations and

orientations.
- Handle concerns with openness and care, and bring sensitive matters to the pedagogy

lead. Aaroh — Programme Lead, 0–3 Years 2Team support reflection.
- Mentor facilitators through regular check-ins, feedback in the environment and shared
- Coordinate team meetings and help the team grow as a reflective learning community.

Training and growth You do not need to arrive fully trained. You need to arrive ready to learn, and to stay with that learning.
- Montessori training: a year-long training at Aaroh, which you will complete alongside

your role.
- Ongoing mentorship: regular reflection and planning time with the pedagogy lead, and

grounding in Integral Education. As your training deepens, so will your ownership of the programme.

Who we are looking for

You are someone who finds the very youngest children genuinely fascinating and wants to understand how they grow. You are calm, unhurried and deeply respectful of toddlers — and just as comfortable guiding a parent as a child. You are comfortable being both a learner and a leader — humble enough to be trained, steady enough for facilitators and parents to lean on. You notice small things, write them down, and follow through.

Essential

- A graduate degree, ideally in education, early childhood, child development, psychology or

a related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience working with children under 3, in a classroom, daycare or

similar setting.
- Confidence and warmth in working with parents in the room, not only with children.
- Commitment to complete the year-long Montessori training at Aaroh.
- Clear, warm communication in English and Gujarati or Hindi, spoken and written.

- Strong organisation: you keep records, plans and documentation in order without being

reminded.
- An interest in, or openness to, Sri Aurobindo's Integral Education and nature-based

learning.

Desirable

- Prior Montessori training, especially at the 0–3 level.
- Experience running parent–child or parent–toddler programmes.
- Experience guiding or mentoring other facilitators or caregivers.

- Experience supporting families through settling-in and early transitions.
- Basic first aid and paediatric care awareness
