The Head of Production in a plastic manufacturing company is responsible for overseeing the production process, managing the production team, and ensuring the efficient and cost-effective production of high-quality plastic products. This role involves planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing processes to ensure that products are produced on time and meet the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production Management

- Develop and implement production schedules to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Oversee the entire production process, from raw material procurement to finished product.
- Ensure optimal utilization of resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials.

Team Leadership
- Manage and lead a team of production supervisors, technicians, and operators.
- Provide training, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure team efficiency and growth.
- Foster a positive and cooperative work environment.

Quality Control
- Implement and maintain quality control systems to ensure products meet industry standards and customer specifications.
- Monitor production processes and make adjustments to improve quality and efficiency.
- Coordinate with the quality assurance team to address any quality issues.

Process Improvement




- Identify areas for improvement in the production process and implement strategies to enhance productivity.
- Utilize lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to minimize waste and increase efficiency.
- Keep abreast of new manufacturing technologies and industry trends.

Cost Management
- Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
- Prepare and manage production budgets and forecasts.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices for raw materials and services.

Health and Safety
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety within the production team.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.

Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain accurate production records and prepare regular reports for senior management.
- Ensure all production documentation is up-to-date and compliant with industry standards.

Requirements:

- Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a production management role within the plastic manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes, materials, and machinery.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in production planning and quality control principles.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
