Job Summary

Blumetra Solutions is looking for an experienced Power BI Lead / Business Objects Lead to lead the design, development, migration, optimization, and delivery of enterprise BI and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI and/or SAP BusinessObjects (BO), data modelling, SQL, dashboard development, reporting architecture, and performance optimization.

The role requires a strong understanding of business intelligence architecture, semantic models, data integration, and enterprise reporting. Candidates should also have practical experience leveraging AI tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or equivalent solutions to accelerate BI development, automate reporting activities, improve data analysis, and enhance development productivity.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and customers to translate business requirements into scalable, reliable, and insightful analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- BI Development &
- Architecture
- Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise BI solutions using Power BI and/or SAP BusinessObjects.
- Design interactive dashboards, reports, scorecards, and analytical visualizations aligned with business requirements.
- Develop and maintain reusable reporting components, semantic models, datasets, and standardized BI frameworks.
- Define BI architecture, development standards, naming conventions, security practices, and deployment approaches.
- Evaluate existing reporting solutions and recommend improvements in usability, scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Power BI Expertise
- Develop and optimize Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and enterprise reporting solutions.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), data modelling, and advanced visualization techniques.
- Implement productive data models, relationships, measures, calculated columns, and time-intelligence calculations.
- Configure row-level security (RLS), workspaces, apps, gateways, refresh schedules, and deployment pipelines as applicable.
- Optimize report rendering, DAX expressions, data refresh performance, and model size.
- Work with DirectQuery, Import, and composite models based on business and performance requirements.
- Business Objects Expertise
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise reports using SAP BusinessObjects tools, where applicable.
- Work with Web Intelligence (WebI), Information Design Tool (IDT), Universe design, and related BO reporting components.
- Develop and optimize universes, semantic layers, queries, prompts, and complex reporting logic.




- Troubleshoot reporting issues, query performance, data inconsistencies, and refresh failures.
- Support BO report modernization, migration, rationalization, and integration with modern BI platforms where required.
- SQL, Data Modelling &
- Integration
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries, joins, subqueries, aggregations, and analytical queries.
- Work with relational databases, data warehouses, and cloud data platforms to build reliable reporting solutions.
- Validate source data, transformations, business rules, and report-level calculations.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate BI solutions with ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data platforms.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, reconciliation, and traceability across reports and dashboards.

- Analytics
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or equivalent tools to accelerate report development, DAX and SQL authoring, troubleshooting, and documentation.
- Explore AI-powered capabilities for natural-language analytics, conversational reporting, automated insights, and report summarization.
- Develop AI-assisted utilities to automate repetitive BI development, testing, documentation, and validation activities.
- Evaluate opportunities to integrate Power BI or enterprise reporting solutions with approved AI services and governed enterprise data sources.
- Apply appropriate validation, access controls, and data privacy practices when using AI-generated code, insights, or business outputs.
- Stay updated on emerging AI capabilities in business intelligence, augmented analytics, and self-service reporting.

- Establish BI development standards, code review practices, testing procedures, and release management processes.
- Optimize dashboards, semantic models, SQL queries, and reporting workloads for performance and scalability.
- Ensure data security, role-based access, governance, and compliance with organizational standards.
- Drive report validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), defect resolution, and production readiness.
- Maintain technical documentation, data definitions, report specifications, and deployment procedures.

- Lead and mentor BI developers and reporting teams, providing technical guidance and quality oversight.
- Engage with customers, business users, product owners,



and data engineering teams to gather requirements and define solutions.

- Manage delivery timelines, technical dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
- Conduct design reviews, code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work within Agile/Scrum delivery models and use Jira or similar project management tools.

Required Skills &

- Experience

- 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, BI development, reporting, and analytics.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Power BI or SAP BusinessObjects.
- For Power BI-focused candidates: proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), semantic modelling, and dashboard optimization.
- For Business Objects-focused candidates: experience with Web Intelligence (WebI), Universe design, IDT, and enterprise reporting.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases and data warehouses.
- Experience with data modelling, semantic layers, data integration, and ETL/ELT concepts.
- Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or equivalent AI platforms.
- Understanding of AI-enabled analytics, automated insights, natural-language reporting, or opportunities to integrate AI into BI workflows.
- Experience with BI performance tuning, troubleshooting, report testing, and production support.
- Strong understanding of data security, access controls, reporting governance, and quality standards.
- Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring developers, and coordinating with business stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure data services, or cloud-based analytics platforms.
- Exposure to Snowflake, Databricks, or other modern cloud data warehouses.
- Experience with Power BI Service administration, deployment pipelines, and enterprise-scale semantic models.
- Experience migrating legacy BusinessObjects reports to Power BI or other modern BI platforms.
- Knowledge of Python or scripting for BI automation and data analysis.
- Exposure to generative AI, large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or AI-powered business analytics.
