- Medication Review & Verification: Interpret physician orders, check for drug interactions or allergies, adjust dosages based on organ function (such as kidney status), and maintain accurate inpatient drug charts. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Qualifications & Skills
- Education: A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy depending on regional licensing laws.
- Licensure & Registration: Active state or national pharmacist license / board registration.
- Core Skills: Deep knowledge of pharmacotherapy and drug kinetics, robust communication for interdisciplinary teamwork, high attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities under pressure.
- Dispensing & Compounding: Prepare, package, label, and compound regular or sterile medications (including IV infusions and chemotherapy). [1, 2, 3]




- Clinical Team Collaboration: Attend medical ward rounds with doctors, provide real-time drug therapy advice, and help select optimal treatments. [1, 2]
- Patient & Family Counseling: Educate patients and their families on side effects, proper administration routes (tablets, inhalers, injections), and post-discharge medication routines. [1, 2]
- Inventory & Supply Management: Monitor stock levels, coordinate with pharmaceutical distributors, oversee storage conditions, and track hospital drug budgets. [1, 2, 3]
