Job Vacancy – Mathematics Teacher (Middle & High School)

St. George’s College, Mussoorie, a premier all-boys boarding school established in 1853 and affiliated with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), invites applications from qualified and experienced educators for the position of Mathematics Teacher (Middle & High School).

We are seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable and dedicated educator with a strong command of Mathematics, a genuine passion for teaching and the ability to develop logical reasoning, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills among students.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, design and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons for middle and high school students in accordance with the ICSE curriculum
- Teach mathematical concepts including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Statistics and other relevant topics
- Develop interactive lesson plans, worksheets, assessments and age-appropriate learning resources
- Apply innovative teaching methodologies, practical demonstrations and real-world examples to make mathematical concepts easier to understand
- Prepare students for school examinations, ICSE Board examinations and competitive Mathematics Olympiads
- Identify individual learning difficulties and provide appropriate remedial support to strengthen students' mathematical foundations
- Encourage logical reasoning, critical thinking and independent problem-solving skills
- Integrate modern educational technology, digital learning platforms and interactive teaching tools into classroom instruction
- Monitor and evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to promote interdisciplinary learning and academic excellence
- Participate actively in school programmes, academic events, co-curricular activities and pastoral care duties




- Contribute to the holistic development of students in a residential school environment, including occasional responsibilities beyond regular academic hours

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics from a recognised university
- B.Ed. is compulsory
- Minimum 5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an ICSE-affiliated school
- Strong command of Mathematics with excellent conceptual understanding and problem-solving abilities
- Proven experience in teaching Mathematics at the middle and secondary school levels
- Familiarity with the ICSE Mathematics syllabus, examination patterns and assessment methodologies
- Ability to explain complex mathematical concepts in a simple, clear and engaging manner
- Experience in preparing students for Mathematics Olympiads and other competitive examinations will be an added advantage
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and classroom management skills
- Proficiency in using modern educational technology and digital teaching resources
- Ability to create an engaging, inclusive and student-friendly learning environment
- A patient, enthusiastic and student-centred approach towards teaching
- A genuine passion for Mathematics and the ability to inspire confidence and curiosity among students
- Willingness to participate in co-curricular, extracurricular and pastoral activities as part of a boarding school community
