The OT Technician will provide technical support in the Operation Theatre, ensuring equipment readiness, sterilisation and smooth conduct of surgical procedures. The role works closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and nursing staff to ensure that each procedure runs safely on schedule and in compliance with infection-control and patient-safety standards and is a key contributor to overall OT efficiency and turnaround time.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare and set up the Operation Theatre for scheduled ophthalmic procedures (cataract, glaucoma, vitreo-retinal and other eye surgeries), including arrangement of ophthalmic instrument sets, IOLs, disposables and equipment as per the surgeon's requirements.

· Ensure sterilisation of instruments and maintenance of OT hygiene protocols, including proper handling, cleaning, packing and autoclaving of surgical instruments as per standard protocols.

· Assist surgeons and OT staff during ophthalmic procedures as required, including positioning of patients for eye surgery, handling of microsurgical instruments and timely provision of IOLs and consumables during the procedure.

· Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic OT equipment such as operating microscopes, phacoemulsification machines, cautery units and vitrectomy systems; report malfunctions promptly and coordinate with biomedical/service teams for repairs.





· Maintain OT records, consumable stock and instrument inventory, including timely indenting and reconciliation of stock to avoid shortages during procedures.

· Ensure adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols in the OT.

Candidate Profile

Candidates with hands-on OT support experience in an eye hospital or ophthalmic surgery setup, with robust attention to hygiene and protocol adherence. Should be comfortable working in high-pressure, time-sensitive surgical settings, demonstrate sound judgement in equipment handling and troubleshooting, and work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary OT team across rotational shifts, including weekends and emergency calls as needed.

Qualification & Experience

Diploma/Certificate in OT Technology or allied paramedical field; 1-4 years of relevant experience. Prior experience in an ophthalmic OT setup and familiarity with basic OT equipment troubleshooting will be preferred.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
