OpenStack Engineer

Job Summary

Experienced OpenStack Engineer with 4+ years of experience in managing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting large-scale OpenStack cloud environments. will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance optimization, incident management, capacity planning, and operational excellence across cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and support OpenStack cloud environments, including (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Swift, Glance)
- Perform daily operational activities, Monitoring cloud health, Incident management, Problem management, Change management, Capacity planning
- Troubleshoot compute, storage, network, and virtualization-related issues.
- Monitor infrastructure using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar solutions.
- Perform OpenStack upgrades, patching, and maintenance activities.
- Work closely with Linux system administrators, network teams, and application teams for issue resolution.
- Automate operational tasks using Ansible, Shell Scripting, or Python.
- Support production environments and participate in on-call rotations.
- Analyze logs and troubleshoot service failures across OpenStack components.
- Ensure SLA compliance, security best practices,



and operational governance.

Required Skills

- Strong experience in OpenStack administration and operations.
- Valuable understanding of Nova, Neutron, Keystone, Glance, Cinder, Swift, and Heat.
- Experience with OpenStack deployment and lifecycle management.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- System administration and troubleshooting expertise.
- Experience with KVM/QEMU.
- Understanding of hypervisor architecture and virtual machine lifecycle management.
- TCP/IP, VLANs, VXLAN, Routing, DNS, DHCP.
- OpenStack Neutron networking concepts.
- Ansible, Shell Scripting, Python (preferred)
- OpenShift and Ceph Administration

Preferred Skills

- Kubernetes/OpenShift exposure.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab.
- Knowledge of cloud security and hardening practices.
- Red Hat OpenStack Platform (RHOSP) experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications are an added advantage
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenStack
- Linux Foundation Certifications
