Key Responsibilities

1. Supplier & Farmer Network Management

Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers, vendors, and farmer groups for commodity procurement. Develop and maintain robust relationships with farmers, FPOs (Farmer Producer Organizations), aggregators, and traders to ensure a steady and quality supply of produce.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers, ensuring cost optimization and fair trade practices.

Conduct periodic supplier audits to assess compliance with quality, sustainability, and regulatory standards.

1. Commodity Sourcing & Procurement Operations

Collaborate with field teams to track crop cycles, yield forecasts, and procurement planning. Ensure timely procurement of raw materials to align with processing schedules and market demand.

Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, invoices, and compliance documentation.

1. Cost & Budget Optimization

Analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and supply-demand dynamics to make informed procurement decisions. Implement cost-reduction strategies by identifying alternative sourcing options and optimizing transportation costs.





Track procurement expenditures and suggest cost-saving initiatives while maintaining product quality.

1. Supply Chain & Logistics Coordination

Work closely with warehouse, logistics, and operations teams to ensure seamless inventory management and transportation. Plan and coordinate logistics to ensure the smooth and cost-effective movement of goods from farms to processing units or buyers.

Monitor stock levels and minimize wastage or shortages through efficient procurement planning.

1. Data Management & Reporting

Maintain and update supplier databases, procurement reports, and transaction records for transparency and compliance. Track and report key procurement metrics such as cost savings, supplier performance, and order fulfillment rates.

Use data insights to drive procurement efficiencies and strategic decision-making.

1. Team Management & Coordination

Lead and manage a procurement team, ensuring effective delegation, training, and performance monitoring. Foster teamwork and collaboration with field officers, agronomists, and operations staff for efficient procurement execution.
