Manager / Senior Manager – Insurance Claims & Marine Insurance

Insurance Claims Management

- Overall responsibility for managing and supervising all insurance claims arising from transportation, transit, accidents, theft, fire, damages, and other operational incidents.
- Ensure timely registration, documentation, processing, follow-up, and closure of insurance claims.
- Review claim cases received from branches, fleet operations, customers, transporters, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure proper assessment of claim eligibility, policy coverage, exclusions, deductibles, and applicable terms and conditions.
- Coordinate with insurance companies, surveyors, loss assessors, TPAs, brokers, legal teams, and internal stakeholders for smooth claim settlement.
- Review and validate claim documents before submission to the insurance company.
- Monitor pending claims and ensure appropriate follow-up until final settlement.
- Handle disputed, repudiated, partially settled, and delayed claims through appropriate escalation and negotiation.
- Ensure proper recording and maintenance of claim-related documents and correspondence.

Marine Insurance Management

- Manage the complete lifecycle of Marine Insurance policies applicable to the company’s transportation and logistics operations.
- Coordinate with insurance brokers and insurance companies for placement, renewal, endorsement, and administration of Marine Cargo/Transit Insurance policies.
- Review policy terms, conditions, coverage, exclusions, deductibles, warranties, and other relevant provisions.
- Ensure appropriate insurance coverage for goods transported through the company’s FTL network.
- Coordinate with internal business, operations, commercial, and finance teams to ensure insurance requirements are appropriately incorporated into transportation activities.
- Manage policy endorsements and amendments arising from changes in business operations, customers, routes, fleet, cargo profile, and risk exposure.
- Ensure timely renewal of Marine Insurance policies without any break in coverage.
- Review insurance requirements for current customers, business contracts, special cargo,



and high-value consignments.
- Support the business team in understanding insurance coverage and contractual insurance obligations.

Claims Investigation & Documentation

- Ensure proper investigation and verification of incidents before submission of claims.
- Coordinate collection of FIR, MLC, seizure reports, vehicle documents, driver documents, invoices, LR/GR, e-way bills, photographs, survey reports, damage reports, delivery documents, and other supporting records as applicable.
- Review the factual circumstances of loss or damage and establish the sequence of events for claim processing.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation submitted to insurers and surveyors.
- Identify documentation gaps and coordinate with concerned branches and departments for timely rectification.
- Ensure proper preservation and submission of evidence required for claim assessment and settlement.

Coordination with Insurance Companies, Brokers & Surveyors

- Maintain professional coordination with insurance companies, insurance brokers, surveyors, investigators, and other external agencies.
- Negotiate and coordinate with insurers and surveyors for fair and timely settlement of legitimate claims.
- Escalate critical or delayed matters with senior officials of insurance companies and brokers.
- Review surveyor observations and assessment reports and coordinate necessary clarifications.
- Ensure timely response to queries, requirements, notices, and communications received from insurers and surveyors.
- Develop effective working relationships with insurance partners to facilitate smooth claim settlement.

Claims Settlement & Recovery

- Supervise the complete claim settlement process from intimation to final settlement.
- Review settlement offers, assessment reports, deductions, repudiation letters, and other insurer communications.
- Coordinate with Finance and Accounts for receipt, accounting,



and reconciliation of claim settlement amounts.
- Identify cases requiring recovery from responsible parties, vendors, transporters, customers, or other stakeholders.
- Coordinate recovery proceedings wherever losses are attributable to third parties.
- Ensure appropriate action on salvage, damaged goods, and recovery-related matters as per policy terms and company procedures.
- Maintain complete records of settled, outstanding, rejected, and disputed claims.

Risk Assessment & Insurance Advisory

- Identify major insurance-related risks associated with FTL transportation operations.
- Review recurring loss patterns, accident-related claims, cargo damages, theft, transit losses, and other insurance exposures.
- Provide appropriate recommendations to management for strengthening insurance protection.
- Advise business and operations teams on insurance implications of transportation contracts, customer requirements, cargo movement, and operational practices.
- Review insurance clauses in customer and vendor agreements and highlight potential areas of risk.
- Support management in evaluating emerging insurance risks and appropriate mitigation measures.

MIS, Records & Management Reporting

- Maintain comprehensive records of all insurance policies, claims, settlements, repudiations, recoveries, and pending matters.
- Prepare periodic insurance claim and policy status reports for management review.
- Provide management with updates on major claims, critical cases, disputed claims, and significant insurance-related developments.
- Maintain proper documentation and digital records for audit and reference purposes.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of claim records with Finance, Accounts, Fleet, and Operations departments.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with Operations, Fleet, Commercial, Finance & Accounts, Legal, Procurement, HSE, Customer Service, and Business Development teams.
- Provide insurance-related support during customer onboarding, contract negotiations, fleet operations, and business expansion.
- Ensure effective communication between internal departments and external insurance stakeholders.
- Support cross-functional teams in resolving insurance-related operational and commercial issues.
