Job Overview

Qualcomm is seeking a Senior Gerrit Administrator to work in the Software Engineering IT team. This position will be part of a Global Engineering IT organization supporting Qualcomms next generation engineering innovations.

Ideal candidate will have solid Hands-On experience in Application and System administration of modern/distributed SCM systems, particularly Git/Gerrit.

Primary areas of contribution would be Installation, Setup, Configuration, Deployment, Monitoring and Support of Gerrit in a Linux environment.

Experience with Docker containerization and Helm chart management would be an added advantage

This position is for an experienced DevOps professional, who will be working on projects and delivering strategic and operational initiatives under guidance of the Product Owner.

This position will be responsible for:

o Building and supporting a highly complex Gerrit infrastructure with replication enabled multiple Geo sites used by Engineering organization o Development of infrastructure automation software using CI/CD principles o Contributing to 24x7 Global Operations

Solid understanding and experience of the following is required:





o 6+ years of Gerrit system/application administration and support in large scale environment o 6+ years of Linux Systems Administration experience o Solid experience in deployment and support of Gerrit High-Availability solution with Globally distributed architecture.

o Strong Unix scripting skills o Experience with Programming skills in Ruby would be an added advantage.

o Software build and release process

End-to-end understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) management and tool chains including build automation, version control, testing, code quality

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to be effective in a global organization

Knowledge of infrastructure automation, monitoring and security is highly desirable

Understanding and exposure to Agile process (SCRUM) is a plus

Strong interpersonal skills are required to work with globally distributed teams

Exceptional ability to drive tasks and deliver on time is a must to be successful in this role

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Science. 6+ years IT-relevant work experience

Advanced Linux & application administration experience.

Advanced experience with Windows Server-based applications.

Advanced database knowledge including system optimization (e.g., Vertica, MSSQL, Oracle, MongoDB).

Advanced experience with container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes).

Experience with data monitoring platforms (e.g., Datadog) is a plus.

Advanced experience with cloud technologies (AWS stack preferred).

Solid troubleshooting and incident resolution skills.
