About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Designer who will translate KREA's design intent into precise, complete shop drawings for the factory floor. Every piece we make begins with your drawing — and it must be so clear that a craftsman can build it exactly as designed, without a single verbal explanation.
You are a designer or draughtsperson by training, with a sharp eye for proportion, joinery and detail.
You enjoy being close to making — on the shop floor, at vendor workshops and in the material market
— and you take pride in seeing a drawing become a finished piece that is identical to what the client approved.
At KREA You Would
– Prepare 2D CAD shop drawings of furniture for production from design intent drawings,
construction sketches, pictures and imagery
– Detail every drawing so the piece can be made without any verbal explanation — every dimension, joint, material and finish explicit to the workman
– Prepare full-scale drawings of furniture, and arrange printing at the factory or outside for ease of production
– Share correct, approved drawings with the production department so that every piece is made identical to the design approved by the client or sales team
– Supervise quality at every stage of production at the factory — from material selection, cutting,
processing and carpentry to polishing, loading and dispatch
– Supervise quality of production at vendors' factories for outsourced items
– Check templates for products, and provide full-scale drawings to workers and vendors
– Prepare as-built working drawings of products after completion
– Submit a daily timesheet, programme, progress and hurdles sheet
It Would Be Wonderful If You Could
– Prepare BOQ / BOM for fabric, timber, ply, veneer, hardware,
stone and other materials
– Prepare cutting lists of materials for production
– Select materials such as stone, glass, wood and veneer in the market
– Communicate with vendors and take quotations for outsourced items
– Take site measurements for cabinetry and other customised items, and prepare drawings accordingly
– Supervise packing and dispatch to avoid damage, including loading and unloading on critical projects
– Help the installation team install furniture as per drawings
– Coordinate with the sales team, and occasionally with customers and their agencies, to gather the information needed for successful production
Qualifications & Experience
– Degree or diploma in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Product Design, Architecture or
Draughtsmanship
– 1–4 years of experience preparing production or shop drawings, preferably for furniture or interiors
– Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with SketchUp or similar 3D tools
– Good understanding of furniture construction, joinery, materials and finishes
– Ability to read design intent drawings and convert them into buildable details
– Portfolio of shop drawings or detailed drawings — must be shared with application
You Would Have an Advantage If You
– Have prepared full-scale drawings and templates for a production shop floor
– Have hands-on experience in preparing BOQs, BOMs and cutting lists
– Have worked on quality control at factory or vendor level
– Have worked on custom furniture for hospitality or luxury residential projects
– Can communicate comfortably in both English and Hindi with craftsmen, vendors and the sales team
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
