Junior Automation Python & Data Engineer (Fresher can apply too)

About the Role

We track deals and transactions across the global OTT and media industry. We’re looking for a junior engineer to build the automations and data pipelines behind this work: scraping media websites, categorizing articles, cleaning data and moving it between our tools.

What You’ll Do

- Scrape media and entertainment news websites using Python to collect headlines, dates, sources and links
- Categorize articles by entity type (e.g., OTT platform, studio, broadcaster, distributor, executive) using rules, pattern matching or NLP/AI-based classification
- Extract key details from articles, such as companies, people and deal indicators
- Build and maintain Google Apps Script automations across Sheets, Gmail and other Workspace tools
- Write Python scripts to clean,



deduplicate and validate data from multiple sources
- Automate data flow between our internal database, Google Sheets and CRM/email campaign tools
- Maintain scrapers when websites change, following site terms and good practice
- Debug, document and improve existing scripts

Must-Have Skills

- Working knowledge of Google Apps Script
- Basic Python (loops, functions, dictionaries, file and CSV handling)
- Web scraping fundamentals (requests, BeautifulSoup or similar, reading HTML structure)
- Logical problem-solving, especially for categorization rules
- Attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to explain your code in plain language

Pay: ₹9,300.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
