An IT Assistant (Hardware & Network) installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots desktop systems, servers, peripherals, and network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) to ensure optimal company performance. They provide technical support, manage user accounts, and maintain IT inventory. Key Responsibilities

- Hardware & Software Support: Install, upgrade, and repair computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and peripheral devices.
- Network Maintenance: Configure and monitor LAN/WAN connectivity, routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure uptime.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues (on-site or remote).
- System Administration: Setup and manage user accounts, permissions, and security measures (antivirus, VPN).
- Inventory & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of IT assets, software licenses, and maintenance logs.
- User Support:



Provide technical assistance to staff on IT-related queries.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Education: Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Robust understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs), operating systems (Windows/Linux), and hardware diagnostics.
- Certifications: Often requires or prefers certifications like CCNA, CompTIA A+, or Network+.
- Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.

Common Qualifications

- Experience with Cisco routing and switching.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity measures (firewalls, VPN).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
