Employment : FTE
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to design, plan, and drive automation strategies across hybrid infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate holds architect-level depth in at least one public cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP), combines deep classical infrastructure expertise (compute, storage, network, database) with strong DevOps, identity, and endpoint management skills, and brings hands-on strength in Terraform/Terragrunt-driven automation. They will be responsible for architecting scalable, repeatable, and secure automation frameworks across the enterprise IT landscape.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end automation architecture spanning provisioning, configuration management, patching, monitoring, and lifecycle operations across on-prem and cloud infrastructure.
- Lead automation strategy and roadmap using Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos, boards, artifacts) as the primary CI/CD and orchestration backbone.
- Architect and standardize automation for classical infrastructure domains:
- Windows & Linux/Unix servers – build, patch, configuration automation (PowerShell DSC, Ansible, etc.)
- VMware – VM provisioning, templates, resource pool automation (vRA/vRO, Terraform, PowerCLI)
- Databases – automated provisioning, backup validation, patching orchestration
- Storage & Backup – automated backup policy enforcement, capacity/DR automation
- Network – automated configuration, compliance checks, network-as-code practices
- Monitoring – automated alerting, self-healing runbooks, integration with ITSM/ticketing
- Design and govern Azure Identity & Access Management (IAM): role-based access control (RBAC), Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), automated access provisioning/deprovisioning,
and identity governance across hybrid environments.
- Architect and manage SCCM (Microsoft Configuration Manager) environments for OS deployment, patch management, software distribution, and endpoint compliance automation.
- Hold architect-level ownership of at least one public cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP) — landing zone design, account/subscription structure, networking, security baselines — and integrate multi-cloud DevOps practices into a unified automation framework.
- Define and enforce Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards with strong hands-on depth in Terraform and Terragrunt (module design, remote state management, workspace/environment isolation, DRY variable hierarchies) alongside ARM/Bicep and Ansible; own IaC governance across teams.
- Partner with delivery, operations, and security teams to translate manual/legacy processes into automated, auditable workflows.
- Own architecture documentation, automation design specs, and implementation planning (phased rollout, risk assessment, rollback strategy).
- Mentor engineering teams on automation best practices and drive adoption across the infra org.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years in infrastructure engineering/architecture roles, with 3+ years focused on automation/DevOps.
- Hands-on expertise with Azure DevOps (pipelines, YAML, release management).
- Strong background across classic infrastructure: Windows Server, Linux/Unix, VMware virtualization, enterprise databases (SQL/Oracle or similar), storage & backup platforms (NetApp, Veeam, Commvault, etc.), and enterprise networking.
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure IAM — RBAC, Conditional Access, PIM, Entra ID (Azure AD) automation and governance.
- Proven experience with SCCM for endpoint management, patching, and OS/application deployment automation.
- Experience with monitoring/observability tools (SCOM, Nagios, Zabbix, Datadog, or similar)
and integrating automated remediation.
- Architect-level expertise in Azure, AWS, or GCP — able to design landing zones, account/subscription hierarchies, network topology, and security/governance baselines, not just automate within an existing environment.
- Working knowledge of at least one additional public cloud beyond the primary and cloud-native DevOps tooling.
- Proficiency in scripting/automation languages: PowerShell, Python, Bash.
- Solid, hands-on IaC experience with Terraform and Terragrunt (module authoring, remote state, environment/workspace isolation, DRY configuration patterns) as the core automation toolchain, plus ARM/Bicep templates and Ansible/Chef/Puppet.
- Proven ability to produce automation design documents and implementation/rollout plans for enterprise environments.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills — able to present automation strategy to both technical teams and leadership.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) or AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or Google Professional Cloud Architect; HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate; Azure Identity & Access Administrator (SC-300); VMware VCP; ITIL Foundation.
- Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments (banking, healthcare, government).
- Exposure to ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, BMC Helix) and CMDB-driven automation.
