Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Marketo QA Engineer to ensure the accuracy, functionality, and quality of marketing campaigns, automation workflows, data processes, and platform integrations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience validating Marketo campaign configurations, email programs, smart lists, lead data, and integrations with Salesforce or other marketing platforms.

The role requires strong analytical skills, systematic test execution, and the ability to identify campaign, workflow, and data issues before production activation.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Campaign and Email Quality Assurance

- Validate email content, hyperlinks, images, personalization tokens, and agile content.
- Test nurture campaigns, triggered campaigns, wait steps, flow actions, and conditional logic.
- Verify A/B testing configurations, audience allocation, and campaign variants.
- Test landing pages and forms, including field validation, submission handling, and confirmation messages.
- Check email rendering across browsers, devices, and email clients.

2. Marketo Program and Workflow Testing

- Validate event registration, confirmation emails, reminders, and post-event follow-up workflows.
- Verify smart lists, segmentation criteria, audience counts, and program membership.
- Test form-to-program flows, lead capture, routing, and campaign progression.
- Validate content syndication feeds, field mappings, and data synchronization.
- Confirm that campaign logic meets the defined business requirements before activation.

3. Data Quality and Validation

- Validate lead and contact uploads for completeness, correct formatting, mandatory fields, and duplicates.
- Verify data normalization, field values, and list counts against expected results.




- Identify data inconsistencies before campaign execution.
- Use Excel and basic SQL, where applicable, to validate records and investigate data discrepancies.
- Verify that campaign and lead data remain consistent across connected platforms.

4. Integration and Platform Testing

- Validate Marketo-to-Salesforce synchronization, field mappings, and data consistency.
- Test API-based integrations and manual data exchanges with external platforms.
- Verify third-party email HTML, tracking links, and campaign data transfers.
- Document integration failures, investigate root causes, and coordinate resolution with technical teams.

5. Test Documentation and Defect Management

- Prepare and execute test cases, test scenarios, and regression test suites.
- Record defects with clear reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, and supporting evidence.
- Perform retesting after fixes and validate business-critical workflows before release.
- Collaborate with marketing operations, campaign managers, developers, and business stakeholders in Agile or sprint-based environments.

Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant QA experience, preferably in marketing automation or MarTech platforms.
- Hands-on knowledge of Adobe Marketo Engage, including campaigns, smart lists, program flows, and segmentation.
- Experience testing email campaigns, landing pages, forms, and marketing automation workflows.
- Understanding of lead data validation, deduplication, field mapping, and platform integrations.
- Basic SQL and Excel skills for data verification.
- HTML fundamentals for email validation, link inspection, and form troubleshooting.
- Robust attention to detail, test case documentation, defect reporting, and regression testing.

Good to Have
- Salesforce CRM and Marketo integration testing experience.
- API testing and third-party data integration validation.
- Exposure to performance or load testing.
- Experience with Jira or similar defect-tracking tools.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery and sprint-based QA.
