Role Description The Head of Development is a full-time, on-site role based in Dindigul, responsible for leading the end-to-end software development function. This role oversees the design, development, and delivery of cloud-based solutions that support post-trade, clearing, collateral, and risk management services. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing development teams, setting technical direction, prioritizing and planning projects, and ensuring high-quality, scalable, secure releases.

The Head of Development collaborates closely with product, operations, and client teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, improve development processes, and drive innovation in line with Sernova’s mission. The role also involves mentoring team members,



establishing best practices, and maintaining strong documentation and compliance with relevant industry standards.

Roles and Responsibilities The key responsibilities include:

- Lead, grow and mentor a team of senior and junior developers
- Own delivery of business solutions on the Sernova file transformation framework (Java/Groovy) and Calypso enhancements in Java
- Enhance the Client Web Portal, across front end and back end
- Contribute to engineering best practives TDD, code reviews and CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps
- Contribute to development and testing processes and keep them well documented
- Partner with Product, Operations and business to simplify support and resolve production issues safely and on time

Skills and Specifications The following skills and specifications are required in a candidate:

- BEng / Master’s or MCA in Computing
- 12+ years in software development, including at least 3 years leading a development team
- Strong, current knowledge of Java 17+, Groovy and Spring / Spring Boot, with the ability to review designs, guide implementation decisions and coach developers
- Current hands-on Java development, JUnit / Spock, Mockito, Git and Maven, Angular knowledge a plus
- Working knowledge of microservices architecture
- A practitioner’s commitment to SOLID, design patterns, clean code and TDD
- A proactive approach and willingness to work within a shift pattern
