The Freight Broker connects shippers with qualified carriers, manages loads from quote to delivery, and builds long-term customer and carrier relationships.

You will own your book of business: prospecting new accounts, pricing and booking freight, covering loads at healthy margins, and keeping customers informed until delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Prospect, qualify and win new shipper accounts through cold calls, email, networking and referrals

- Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers to secure repeat and contract freight

- Quote rates based on lane, equipment type, market conditions and target margins

- Source, vet and negotiate with carriers to cover loads on time and within budget

Qualifications

Required

- [1–3] years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics sales or carrier sales (or a strong sales background with a willingness to learn)

- Working knowledge of trucking equipment types (dry van, reefer, flatbed, LTL, FTL) and the freight lifecycle

- Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven,



high-call-volume environment

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; ability to learn a TMS and load boards quickly

- Robust organization, attention to detail and problem-solving under pressure

Preferred

- Experience with a TMS (e.g., McLeod, Aljex, Tai, Revenova) and load boards (e.g., DAT, Truckstop)

- Existing book of business or established shipper/carrier network

- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, broker authority, bonding and cargo insurance requirements

- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain or a related field (or equivalent experience)
