Outlier is looking for filmmakers and videographers to capture short, real-camera video sets that help train AI models. This is versatile, project-based freelance work you can fit around your other shoots, classes, or job.
Pay: $25 to $50 per accepted submission.
What you’ll do
Shoot short videos (10 to 30 seconds) in one of two formats:
- Multiple angles: Record one continuous performance with two or more cameras at the same time, from clearly different angles. Each angle is delivered as its own file, aligned frame for frame.
- Action change: On a locked tripod, shoot the same scene twice with the subject doing a different continuous action in each take. Deliver the two takes as separate, aligned files.
All footage must be raw and unedited, apart from trimming so clips line up. You’ll receive full guidelines once you’re selected. You’re a great fit if you
- Have roughly 1 to 3 years of experience in videography, filmmaking, video editing, or content creation
- Own or can access a camera (a mirrorless camera or a phone that shoots 1080p) and a tripod
- Can export 1920x1080, 30 fps, H.264 files at 30 Mbps
- Understand lighting, white balance, and locked exposure
- Are comfortable with sync, trimming, and checking alignment between clips
- Have a second camera for the multi-angle format (optional; the action change format needs only one)
Good to know
- All footage must be original and shot by you, with natural scene audio and no voiceover or music
- Continuous visible motion is required throughout each clip
- No minors on camera
- Signed appearance and ML-training releases are strongly encouraged for anyone identifiable on camera
Interested? Apply now and submit your sample and we will reach out with the next steps.
