Firmware Engineer, Power Electronics (Jr./Sr.)
About the company We are Ultraviolette. And our race to the future has just begun.
Ultraviolette Automotive
Pvt. Ltd. is a company at the forefront of technology in the performance and energy infrastructure sector. Founded in 2016 by Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan, the company is driven by a vision to create cutting-edge solutions using progressive design and energy-efficient technology.
Ultraviolette
Automotive is currently working on developing India's first ecosystem of high-performance electric vehicles and energy infrastructure that is ready for the future. The company is committed to revolutionizing sustainable mobility and energy systems through uniquely innovative and expert solutions.
What is to be done?
Design, build and bring into production high performance power electronics hardware for use in automotive applications, specifically for a range of superbikes. Collaborate with hardware, testing, quality, compliance, and manufacturing teams. Responsible for design of converter control from conceptualization to testing and production.
Prepare and keep up to date the documentation related to design and development, as well as effectively communicate technical and non-technical information to relevant stakeholders. Build intellectual property and reduce these into practice.
What is required?
Commitment and passion towards all things engineering, in general, and power electronics, in specific. Drive towards creating new ideas and bringing them to practice. Strong work ethic, bias towards action, and readiness to be outside owns comfort zone.
Solid background in designing control and protection systems/strategies for multi-kW power converter systems. Proven ability to convert requirements and instructions into effective, efficient, and compliant code for embedded systems with clear evidence of its functionality.
Strong background in implementation on popular micro-controllers and associated IDEs.
In-depth understanding of architectures and peripherals on popular microcontroller platforms.
Strong background in communication protocols for serial and CAN communication.
Background in classical and modern control theory along with its discrete implementation. Background in power electronics topologies in AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion systems.
Background in understanding limitations of sensing circuits, analog, digital and mixed-signal electronic circuits.
Experience in automotive, aerospace or consumer industry is preferred. Hands-on experience with software tools for circuit simulation (LTSPICE, PLECS, PSIM, Simulink), scripting languages (MATLAB, Python, Octave) is preferred. Highly skilled at problem solving and debugging. Experience with designing systems for testing, validation, and manufacturing. Knowledge about automotive relevant standards applicable in different geographies is preferred.
B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc or M.E./M.Tech/M.Sc in Electrical Engineering + 2 years or more of relevant hands-on experience in control software for power conversion systems.
What we look for?
Evidence of complete hands-on development of power electronic firmware and, preferably, hardware. Evidence of developing designs for testing and manufacturing. Evidence of problem solving and finding creative solutions within a constrained framework. Evidence of developing relevant IP and reducing them to practice.
What should you expect?
Work in a fast-paced environment and with a highly motivated team of skilled engineers. Develop state-of-the-art power electronic systems for high-performance superbikes from scratch. Exposure to different subsystems on the automotive including battery, motor inverter, charging, VCU, software and user experience. For early career individuals, a hands-on experience and cultivation of skills towards growing into a well rounded electrical and power electronics engineer.
