Equity Research Analyst (Chemicals & Pharma) Position: Equity Research Analyst Chemicals & Pharma

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Equity Research Analyst to join our Institutional Equities Research team. The role involves covering the Indian Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals sectors, conducting in-depth fundamental research, and publishing high-quality research reports and investment recommendations for domestic institutional clients.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, sound financial modelling capabilities, and a thorough understanding of the Chemicals and Pharma industries.

Key Responsibilities

- Track and analyse listed companies within the Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals sectors.
- Conduct detailed fundamental research, including financial statement analysis, business and industry assessment, and company valuations.
- Build and maintain integrated financial models, earnings forecasts, and valuation models.
- Publish initiation reports, result updates, sector reports, thematic reports, and company notes.
- Generate timely investment recommendations based on earnings, industry developments, and company-specific events.
- Monitor regulatory developments, raw material trends, industry dynamics,



and macroeconomic factors impacting the sectors.
- Interact with company management teams, industry experts, distributors, and other stakeholders to validate investment ideas.
- Present investment recommendations to the Institutional Sales team and domestic institutional clients.
- Support institutional sales by addressing client queries and participating in client meetings, roadshows, and investor conferences.
- Stay updated on market developments and identify emerging investment opportunities within the Chemicals and Pharma sectors.

Desired Candidate Profile

- 3–7 years of relevant equity research experience covering the Chemicals and/or Pharmaceuticals sectors.
- Prior experience in Institutional Equity Research with a brokerage or financial services firm covering domestic institutional clients.
- Strong expertise in financial modelling, company valuation, and fundamental analysis.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
- Ability to independently initiate coverage, prepare research reports, and generate investment ideas.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, or similar financial databases.
- CFA, CA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualification will be preferred.

Preferred Background

- Experience in sell-side institutional equity research.
- Solid understanding of the Indian Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality research reports and actionable investment recommendations.
- Experience interacting with domestic institutional investors and supporting institutional sales initiatives.
