Environmental Engineer – Water & Wastewater Treatment

MITCON Envirotech Ltd. is seeking an Environmental Engineer with 2–3 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater treatment, environmental management, and project execution. The candidate will support the design, engineering, installation, commissioning, operation, and performance optimization of Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), and Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP).

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the design, engineering, and execution of WTP, STP, ETP, and CETP projects.
- Prepare and verify process calculations, equipment specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and technical cost estimates.
- Monitor and supervise treatment plant operations and site activities, including civil, mechanical, piping, and electromechanical works.
- Review influent and treated-water quality parameters and assess treatment performance.
- Assist in preparing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;), equipment datasheets, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, project execution, O&M;, and commissioning teams.
- Ensure compliance with applicable CPCB/SPCB guidelines, environmental standards, consent conditions, and project specifications.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning, and performance trials of treatment systems.
- Conduct site inspections, troubleshoot technical issues, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.




- Prepare project progress reports, O&M; reports, environmental monitoring reports, and compliance documentation.
- Support the preparation of technical proposals, tender documents, BOQs, and cost estimates.
- Assist in treatment plant adequacy assessments, process optimization, and performance improvement.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and regulatory authorities as required.

Educational Qualification B.E./B.Tech. in Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering.

Required Experience

2–3 years of relevant experience in environmental engineering, water treatment, wastewater treatment, or environmental project execution.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of WTP, STP, ETP, CETP, and wastewater treatment processes.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and CPCB/SPCB compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of process calculations, equipment specifications, BOQs, and technical estimates.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Excel.
- Strong technical reporting, documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and project coordination abilities.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Preferred Experience Experience in industrial wastewater treatment, municipal STP projects, sugar and distillery ETPs, Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), water audits, environmental compliance, EPC/PMC projects, plant commissioning, or O&M; will be an added advantage.
