The Manager, ‘Design/Project’ shall work on the electrical design for LV & MHV AC synchronous generators, work with global engineering team for design transfers, lead and manage the product transfer project from global for local and global customers, Plans the project for timeline & coordinates with CFT for implementing the product on-time.

Core Responsibilities:

- To design the LV/MHV generators using the calc tool, builds the electrical datasheet/spec, O&M; manual etc.,
- To manage the project for transfer of products from global locations.
- To design & develop the products as per customers’ requirements for India
- To work with global engineering team for design optimization and data transfer
- To coordinate end-to-end and work collaboratively for the project management during product transfers/product developments

Other roles and responsibilities:

- To lead a team of 2~3, guide and mentor them to accomplish the goal
- To study application requirements of generators and provide suitable solutions against customer spec for generator applications
- To participate in technical meeting for and coordinate to provide the inputs to customers
- To support the test bench development for testing of generators
- To carry out VAVE activities to improve the profit
- To develop qualification plans for product/components.
- To work on certification requirements of CE/UL/CSA/Marine etc., for rotating machines

Key deliverables:

- Deliver error free and cost-effective electrical design & BOM for ac generators.
- On-time delivery of assigned projects maintaining the global quality standards
- Maintain, systematic and clear database for the transfer projects.
- Adhere to statutory compliances & safety practices.




- To identify and deliver VAVE cost savings for the product.

Essentials:

Able to work independently on electrical design of ac generators and manage the project with minimal guidance.

External & Internal Relationships:

External: Customers, Suppliers, Vendors, Certification bodies.

Internal: Management team, cross functional/departments, Global team.

Travel Requirements:

Areas: Position is based at Corporate Office Bengaluru however he/she shall be ready travel to Hubli / Dharwad plants and to customers’ places.

Frequency: On regular intervals travel to NIAIPL entities and overseas on need basis.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

- Bachelor/master’s in engineering domain.
- Minimum of 10 + years of experience (overall) working for rotating electrical machines.
- Excellent Computer and presentation skills.
- Work exposure in global organization and having experience of working with people of different culture.
- Language(s) & level: Fluent in English & Hindi.
