Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Deputy Manager - Data Engineering with strong hands-on experience in SQL, Power BI, and VBA to design, build, and maintain data pipelines, analytics solutions, and reporting dashboards. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into scalable and automated data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and automated workflows across multiple internal systems.

- Extract, validate, and integrate data from various source systems including databases, APIs, and flat files, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

- Develop and optimize ETL processes to clean, transform, and aggregate large datasets for analytics and reporting.

- Manage and optimize SQL databases, including complex queries, stored procedures, performance tuning, and monitoring.

- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and performance optimization.

- Develop VBA-based automation solutions to streamline recurring data processing and reporting activities.

- Perform data analysis,



prepare insights, trend analysis, and data validation reports for stakeholders.

- Collaborate closely with Technology, Actuarial, and Engineering teams to understand business needs and deliver technical solutions.

- Ensure proper documentation, version control, and adherence to data governance and best practices.

Core Technical Requirements

- Strong hands-on experience with SQL, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.

- Proven experience building and managing ETL pipelines using tools or custom-developed scripts.

- Proficiency in VBA for automating data processing and reporting workflows.

- Strong expertise in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX calculations, and report optimization.

- Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, Power Pivot, macros, and complex formulas.

- Solid understanding of data structures, data quality checks, and validation techniques.

- Experience extracting data from enterprise systems, APIs, and structured/unstructured data sources.

- Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data wrangling is a plus.
