Role Overview A leading footwear and lifestyle retail brand is looking for a Deputy Manager Business Development to drive retail expansion across South India. The role involves identifying prime retail locations, negotiating commercial terms, managing property acquisition, and coordinating new store openings.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate retail locations across premium malls and high streets.
- Conduct market research, catchment analysis, competitor mapping, and location feasibility assessments.
- Negotiate rentals, security deposits, revenue-sharing arrangements, and lease terms with landlords and mall developers.
- Manage lease documentation, renewals, property approvals, and commercial agreements in coordination with Legal and Finance.
- Coordinate end-to-end current store openings, including property handover and cross-functional execution.
- Evaluate existing stores for relocation, lease restructuring,
and occupancy cost optimization.
- Support franchisee identification, onboarding, commercial negotiations, and relationship management.
- Prepare business proposals, commercial feasibility reports, and expansion updates for management.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 5+years of relevant experience in retail expansion, property acquisition, leasing, or business development.
- Experience in organized retail, footwear, fashion, apparel, or lifestyle brands preferred.
- Strong exposure to mall leasing, high-street property acquisition, commercial negotiations, and lease documentation.
- Good understanding of retail profitability, rental structures, and location feasibility.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, stakeholder management, and project coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively across South India.
