1. Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovation-driven DGM – R&D; (Tile Adhesives & Waterproofing) to lead product development, formulation optimization, performance testing, and technical innovation across tile adhesive, waterproofing, grouts, and allied construction chemical products. The role will be responsible for developing cost-effective, high-performance, and market-oriented formulations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, improving product quality, and supporting business growth through continuous innovation. The candidate will collaborate closely with Quality Control, Technical Services, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Sales teams to deliver reliable and commercially viable products.

1. Key Responsibilities

A. Research & Product Development
- Lead the development of current formulations for tile adhesives, cementitious waterproofing, liquid-applied waterproofing, grouts, epoxy grouts, and related construction chemicals.
- Develop products across different performance categories based on customer requirements, market positioning, and business strategy.
- Optimize existing formulations to improve performance, workability, durability, and cost efficiency.
- Evaluate raw materials, additives, polymers, cement, fillers, and other formulation components.
- Conduct laboratory trials, prototype development, performance evaluations, and field validation.
- Develop products suitable for different substrates, climatic conditions, and application requirements.

B. Formulation Optimization & Innovation
- Drive formulation improvements in adhesion strength, open time, slip resistance, water retention,



flexibility, water resistance, and application properties.
- Develop waterproofing solutions with suitable properties for relevant applications, including terraces, bathrooms, balconies, and wet areas.
- Identify opportunities for product differentiation, premium product development, and portfolio expansion.
- Evaluate alternative raw materials and technologies to improve product performance and reduce formulation costs.
- Establish formulation databases, technical documentation, and product development protocols.

C. Testing, Standards & Compliance
- Ensure product development and validation align with applicable BIS/IS standards, relevant EN standards, and approved internal specifications.
- Establish appropriate testing protocols for tile adhesives, waterproofing products, grouts, and other construction chemicals.
- Review test results for properties such as tensile adhesion strength, open time, slip, deformability where applicable, water resistance, and durability.
- Coordinate with internal and external laboratories for specialized testing and product certification requirements.
- Maintain technical data sheets (TDS), safety data sheets (SDS), test reports, and formulation records.
- Ensure product claims are supported by appropriate test data and technical evidence.

D. Cost Optimization & Commercial Viability
- Work with Procurement and Manufacturing teams to optimize raw material costs without compromising product quality.
- Evaluate alternative suppliers and raw materials through technical trials and performance validation.
- Support target-cost formulation development based on product positioning and market requirements.
- Monitor formulation cost, product margins, and the commercial feasibility of new products.
- Identify opportunities to reduce process losses, improve consistency, and enhance manufacturing efficiency.

E. Scale-Up & Manufacturing Support
- Lead the transition of laboratory formulations to pilot and commercial-scale production.
- Establish formulation parameters
