We are co-terminous with our local authority, and Integrated Joint Board which makes partnership work smoother, though still challenging due to fiscal constraints

Additional strategic capacity will help us deliver some of that shift The postholder will be responsible for managing 4 individuals including 2 who will be supporting our new health intelligence function The arrangements in Scotland are such that you will be based within the NHS, acquiring NHS pay & conditions, with the challenge of working into partnerships wearing an NHS perspective, The Scottish Borders covers 116,000 people and includes the commuter belt to Edinburgh in the north

It is roughly the same geographical size as Kent, or Northumberland with beautiful countryside and small historic towns such as Hawick, Galashiels, Peebles, Selkirk and Melrose

These small towns lend themselves to case-control studies from a population perspective

We are currently collaborating with Oxford University in a project looking at endoscopy screening funded by UK Cancer Research, arrangements we certainly want to encourage!

As we are a small Board, our staff tend to have large and broad portfolios which means they find extra satisfaction and can enhance their CV for posts that may only encompass smaller components in other larger organisations

We are renowned for our friendliness and supportive staff; we want anyone who comes to work with us to join our happy family, Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case
