Role Description The CDP Continental (Chef de Partie – Continental Cuisine) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Puducherry. The role involves preparing and cooking continental dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistent quality and presentation. Daily tasks include planning and organizing the section, supervising commis chefs, managing mise en place, and coordinating with other kitchen sections during service.

The CDP Continental is responsible for maintaining hygiene and safety standards, monitoring stock levels, minimizing wastage, and supporting menu development with new ideas.



Collaboration with the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure timely service and a smooth operation is a key part of this role.

Qualifications

- Strong skills in continental cooking techniques, food preparation, and plating, with the ability to follow and refine standardized recipes.
- Experience in professional kitchen operations, including section management, coordination during peak service, and supervision of junior staff.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices, with adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
- Ability to manage inventory for the assigned section, handle ordering and stock rotation, and control food cost and wastage.
- Valuable communication and teamwork skills, with the capacity to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Relevant culinary education or certification from a recognized institute is preferred, along with prior experience as a CDP or Demi Chef in continental cuisine.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
