Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of BI Analysts - task allocation, quality review, coaching, and performance feedback

- Design, build, and maintain BI dashboards and reports, owning the full development lifecycle (requirements to deployment)

- Partner with data engineering on pipelines, warehousing, and semantic layers; ensure data accuracy and governance

- Act as the primary liaison between BI and business stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Ops); present insights to leadership

- Define BI development standards, documentation, and best practices across the team

- Identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement in BI processes and tooling

Technical Competency

- BI Tools: Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik Sense (DAX, custom visuals, row-level security)

- SQL: Expert-level - complex joins, window functions, query optimization, stored procedures

- Data Warehousing: Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse

- Data Modeling:



Dimensional modeling (star/snowflake schema), semantic layer design

- ETL/ELT: SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Talend, Informatica, or dbt

- Programming: Python or R for analysis and automation

- Cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP (core data services)

- Other: Advanced Excel (Power Query, PivotTables, macros), Git, Agile/Scrum tools (Jira)

Qualifications

- Bachelors in CS, Statistics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field (Masters a plus)

- 6+ years in BI/data analytics, including 2+ years leading or mentoring a team

- Proven track record delivering BI projects end-to-end

- Soft Skills

- Solid leadership, coaching, and communication skills; able to translate technical work for non-technical audiences

- Strategic thinker with strong prioritization, project management, and stakeholder management skills

Preferred / Nice to Have

- BI or cloud certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Tableau Desktop Specialist)

- Exposure to machine learning, predictive analytics, or real-time/streaming data
