Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Aurora DBA to support the day-to-day operations of Amazon Aurora databases. The candidate will assist in managing cloud-native databases, performing basic administration tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring data integrity and availability in AWS environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of Amazon Aurora MySQL clusters.
- Monitor database performance using AWS CloudWatch, RDS console, and third-party tools.
- Perform daily health checks, backups, and routine maintenance activities.
- Support backup/restore processes, snapshots, and database cloning.
- Help ensure data integrity, availability, and security using AWS IAM and Aurora features.
- Assist in basic query tuning and analyzing slow query logs.
- Participate in incident response and troubleshooting database issues under guidance.
- Document standard operating procedures and contribute to automation efforts.




- Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to support database-related tasks in CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in 24/7 support rotations and own resolution of high-impact database incidents.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 2 - 7 years of experience with relational databases, specifically in MySQL or Aurora.
- Basic understanding and experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM).
- Familiarity with SQL, database structures, indexes, and query optimization concepts.
- Experience in PostgreSQL is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Aurora-specific features (Auto-scaling, Global Databases, Read Replicas) is a plus.
- Valuable analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in shifts or on-call support (as required).

Preferred Qualifications:

- AWS Certifications
- Exposure to monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic.
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Bash) for automation.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Exposure to Kubernetes and database provisioning in containerized environments
- Exposure to CyberArk and Dynatrace tools.
