Department: Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Designation: Attending Consultant / Associate Consultant / Senior Resident

Location: Max Super Speciality Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi

Job Summary To provide comprehensive medical care to critically ill infants and children in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), ensuring timely diagnosis, effective treatment, continuous monitoring, and management of paediatric emergencies and life-threatening conditions.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- Provide comprehensive care to critically ill infants and children admitted to the PICU.
- Assess, diagnose, and manage paediatric emergencies and critical medical conditions.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, clinical status, and response to treatment.
- Manage respiratory failure, shock, sepsis, seizures, and other critical conditions.
- Perform or assist in procedures such as endotracheal intubation, central line insertion, and arterial line insertion, as per competency and hospital privileges.
- Manage mechanical ventilation and other advanced life-support interventions.
- Coordinate with paediatricians, intensivists, nursing staff, and other multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure timely documentation of clinical findings, treatment plans,



and patient progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding the child’s condition and treatment plan.
- Follow hospital protocols, infection control practices, and patient safety standards.
- Participate in emergency response, clinical audits, and quality improvement activities.

Qualification
- MD/DNB in Paediatrics.
- Fellowship or additional training in Paediatric Critical Care will be preferred for specialist positions.
- Relevant registration with the National Medical Commission/State Medical Council.

Experience
- Experience in paediatric critical care or PICU management is preferred.
- Fresh MD/DNB Paediatrics candidates may be considered for suitable positions, depending on the role and hospital requirements.

Key Skills
