Role Description The Accountant role at VDart Academy is a full-time, on-site position based in Thanjavur. The Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day financial activities, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

This role involves preparing financial statements and reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring accurate recording of revenue and expenses related to training programs and operations. The Accountant will monitor cash flow, assist with payroll processing, and coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants as needed.



The role also includes maintaining compliance with relevant accounting standards and local regulations, improving internal controls, and collaborating with management to provide financial insights that support decision-making.

Qualifications

- Strong financial accounting skills, including bookkeeping, general ledger management, and preparation of financial statements.
- Proficiency in accounts payable and receivable processes, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management.
- Experience using accounting software and spreadsheets; ability to maintain accurate digital and physical financial records.
- Knowledge of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and basic auditing principles relevant to educational or training institutions.
- Analytical skills to support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting for management.
- Attention to detail, solid organizational abilities, and capacity to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with management, instructors, vendors, and external consultants.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (such as CA, CMA, or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Prior experience as an Accountant or in a similar finance role; experience in the education or training sector is a plus.
