- Around 5-6 years experience in Unix Storage and network administration, deployments and management of reasonably large Ceph clusters, exposure to cluster architectures with application of best practices

- Hands-on work in implementing Ceph configurations for data availability (replication, erasure-coding), scalability, security, data distribution and recovery

- Positive understanding of Ceph internals RADOS, Crush maps and alogrithims, Ceph APIs and scripts

- Deployment, configuration of Ceph services and access mechanisms for RBD, CFS and S3 compatible object store.

- Self-driven, learning aptitude, ability to work in small teams and operate independently, reviews available data and makes quick decisions.

Responsibilities

- Planning deployment of Ceph clusters with appropriate system configuration, networking infrastructure and large storage capacities in a data center





- Monitoring of Ceph clusters for optimal operations. Review and optimize dashboards, setup alerting for critical Ceph events

- Setup and test RBD consumption for availability and performance, RGW for Object store, Ceph Filesystems, NAS/NFS services

- Management of clusters: Upgrades of Ceph components, rebalancing of PGs, Objects, change storage capacities, resize cluster configurations without impact to operations.

- Assess security of data implement practices for cloud compliance requirements of cluster

- Working with clusters in multi-site configurations; review, understand and implement replication strategies for data availability in different zones
