Bengaluru

Ctrl Alt Experience (CAX) builds immersive experience centres, museums and interactive installations across India, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Touch tables, projection, large format displays, interactive exhibits, real time 3D.

We are hiring an Associate Field Engineer: the person who goes to site, makes the system work, and represents CAX while doing it.

We are not looking for someone who already knows our stack. We will teach you AV, media players, networking and real time 3D. What we cannot teach quickly is the ability to think clearly when something is broken and the client is standing next to you.

Location: Bengaluru, with frequent travel to project sites across India and occasional travel to the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Site stays of two to three weeks during installation are normal.

WHAT WE ARE ACTUALLY HIRING FOR

Communication. You will be on site with the client, the contractor and their IT team while our developers are in Bangalore. You need to describe what you are seeing accurately, in writing and on a call, to people who cannot see it. "It is not working" is not a report. "Station 4 shows the Windows desktop, the app does not launch, this started after the power cut last night" is.

Reading a situation. Knowing when something is a five minute fix and when it needs escalating now. Knowing when to tell a client you do not have an answer yet, and when the next update will come. Knowing what matters three hours before a walkthrough and what can wait.

Troubleshooting instinct. Changing one thing at a time. Checking the obvious before the exotic. Swapping in something known to work. Noticing what changed since it last worked. This is a way of thinking, not a list of facts.

Ownership. On site you are often the only CAX person there. Nobody will assign you the next task.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Site surveys and readiness checks: power, network, mounting, access, dimensions

- Install and mount displays, touch tables, media players, PCs, projectors and sensors
- Run, terminate, test and label network and AV cabling
- Configure PCs and media players: OS setup, displays, kiosk mode, startup behaviour, remote access
- Deploy software builds to site machines and verify each station works as specified
- Work through the commissioning checklist station by station and drive the snag list to zero
- Diagnose faults on site and either fix them or report them precisely enough that a remote developer can
- Be the on site point of contact for the client, contractors and their IT team
- Report daily site status with photos and a clear list of what is open
- Maintain handover documentation: device inventory, IP schedules, cable schedules
- Support client walkthroughs, UAT and handover

WHAT YOU NEED

- 1 to 2 years in a hands on technical role with direct customer or user contact: IT support, field service, AV, ELV, electronics, networking, equipment service, retail or hospitality technology. Strong fresh graduates with real hands on project work will be considered
- Clear spoken and written English. You will be talking to enterprise clients and writing reports they read
- Comfortable with Windows, willing to learn macOS. Able to install software, change display settings, find logs
- Basic networking: what an IP address is, static versus DHCP, using ping to check whether something is reachable. You will learn the rest here
- Comfortable with hardware: mounting,

cabling, opening things up
- Willing and able to travel, with a valid passport or willing to get one
- Able to work in an active construction or fit out environment, including late nights before a client walkthrough
- Diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Computer Science or similar is helpful but not required

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN HERE
- AV systems: signal paths, extenders, matrix switchers, projection setup and alignment, audio
- Media players and digital signage platforms including BrightSign
- On site network configuration: VLANs, switches, static addressing, device connectivity
- Deploying and troubleshooting Unity and Unreal Engine builds
- How a large experiential project is delivered end to end, from survey to handover

WHO THIS SUITS

Someone early in their career who would rather be on site than at a desk. Someone who checks the input selection before escalating, changes one variable at a time, and labels the cables properly because they know who has to fix it at 2am six months from now. Someone who can stand in front of a client and give an accurate status instead of a reassuring one.

If you want to learn this industry from the inside and you are not precious about long days and unglamorous work, this is a good place to start.

WHAT WE OFFER

- Work on some of the most ambitious experiential projects in the region
- A small, senior team. You will learn AV, software and real time 3D from people doing it hands on
- Real ownership of sites early, rather than a slot in a large delivery machine
- A clear path toward Field Engineer and full site ownership To apply, send your CV and a short note answering this: describe something technical that stopped working, and how you worked out why. It does not have to be from a job.
