Your Role: Senior Software Engineer - Java

The Product development team in VuNet is responsible for creating highly scalable products for our customers and delivering excellent customer experience. We are looking for an experienced Senior Software developer with deep expertise in Java, specifically focused on creating agents to collect observability data from various systems. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge observability solutions that run at scale in real-world production environments, directly impacting customer experience. Roles & Responsibilities

- Design and develop lightweight, high-performance Java agents that collect data from JVMs and other systems in customer production environments, with minimal overhead.
- Build low-level data collection using JMX/MBeans, Java instrumentation (java.lang.instrument / bytecode instrumentation), sockets (TCP/UDP) and NIO.
- Write efficient, thread-safe, concurrent code that handles high data volumes reliably in long-running processes.
- Diagnose and resolve JVM-level production issues such as memory leaks, GC pressure, thread contention, deadlocks and CPU spikes, using thread dumps, heap dumps and profilers.
- Maintain and enhance existing agents, including root cause analysis, solution design and working with customer-facing teams to deploy fixes.
- Ensure code quality through design specifications, coding standards, unit testing and peer code reviews.
- Take end-to-end ownership of solutions, from requirement analysis to production deployment, collaborating with product, platform and support teams.
- Contribute to other Java platform initiatives when required (e.g., custom adapters, platform modules or supporting services).

What You Bring

Mandatory Skills

- 5–8 years of strong Core Java experience, with hands-on work in areas such as multithreading, JVM internals, performance tuning or low-level I/O.
- Multithreading & concurrency: java.util.concurrent, synchronization, thread pools, the Java memory model.
- JVM internals: class loading, memory areas, JIT.
- Garbage collection & memory management: GC algorithms, tuning, memory leak analysis.
- Socket programming & File I/O / NIO: TCP/UDP sockets, buffers, channels and selectors.
- JMX / MBeans for monitoring and management.
- Java instrumentation:



Java agents, java.lang.instrument, bytecode manipulation (e.g., ByteBuddy or ASM).
- Thread dump and heap dump analysis — hands-on troubleshooting experience.
- Profiling tools such as JProfiler, VisualVM, JFR or async-profiler.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an eye for detail and debugging complex production issues.
- Excellent communication skills – able to clearly document, present, and discuss technical solutions.
- Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, with strong curiosity to learn new technologies and domains quickly.
