Sustainability Lead Job Description
Position Overview
The Sustainability Lead drives environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives across the organization, developing and implementing sustainability strategies that reduce environmental impact while supporting business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development Develop and execute comprehensive sustainability strategies aligned with corporate goals and industry best practices. Set measurable targets for carbon reduction, waste management,
energy efficiency, and water conservation. Monitor emerging regulations and sustainability trends to ensure organizational preparedness.
Program Implementation Lead implementation of sustainability programs across facilities and operations. Coordinate green building certifications (LEED, BREEAM, WELL) and energy management systems. Oversee renewable energy procurement, waste reduction initiatives, and circular economy programs.
Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate with leadership, operations teams, and external partners to integrate sustainability into business operations. Engage employees through training, awareness campaigns, and sustainability committees. Build relationships with vendors and suppliers to advance sustainable procurement.
Reporting and Communications Prepare sustainability reports following GRI, SASB, TCFD, or other recognized frameworks. Track and report ESG metrics to internal and external
